Exeter. Exeter Fair Prize Books Out The prize lists for the Exeter <Fall Fair have beexx distributed by the secretary, Clark Fisher. The fair is to be held Wednes­ day and Thursday, September 22 and 23. It will feature a street parade at 1.15 headed by the Exeter Band: horse races, bicycle and foot races, and a dance at night. Attractive prizes are being offered together with many special prizes. Wainwright GOD SAVE THE KING Scout Hall Truck Stolen and Recovered Wednesday evening a panel truck belonging to Glen Robin­ son, of Centralia, was stolen at Spruce Grove and about three o'clock Thursday morning was found by the owner abandoned at Claxxdeboye. At 10:15 p.m. a phone call was received at the lxonxe of Provincial Constable "Jack 'Ferguson and five minutes later Mr. Ferguson, while cruis­ ing in his police car, picked up the message which was broad­ cast from Toronto and later from London. The truck was ta­ ken to Lucan and is being searched for fingerprints. One hundred dollars worth of goods ixx the truck were left intact. Mrs. Albert Mitchell returned home from St. Joseph’s Hospital London, on Saturday. She is he- Mr. Chester Cornish, who is ill in St. Joseph’s Hospital fol­ lowing axx accident, is slowly improving. Fletcher and Mary were at Wallaceburg Wednesday attending’ the funeral of Mrs. Fletcher’s brother, Mr. M, Night­ ingale, who passed away in Westminster Hospital on Sunday Mr. Nightingale is a veteran of the First Great War and had been ill for about six months. Ernest Keys was travelling north when his car was struck by another car going west driven by an of­ ficer from the R.C.A.F., Centra­ lia. The Keys car was struck in the rear fender which was badly crumpled. The meeting was opened followed unison, meeting zer and the roll called. The president, Beulah Howey, con­ ducted the business. It was de­ cided to entertain the W.A. and the W.M.S. at the October meet­ ing. The Worship period was opened by the call to worship led by Alice Bowen. Hymn 55 was sung after which Eva Pearce led ixx prayer. The Scrip­ ture lesson was read by Eileexx Higgins, Elsie Parkinson and Vi Sweitzer. Hymxx 261 was sung followed by a readng by Grace Pepper and a solo by Winnie Taylor. Rev. Mr. Mahoney intro­ duced the new Study Book and hyxnn 358 was sung. The meet­ ing closed with the Mizpah Ben­ ediction. Lunch was served by the group in charge. Beulah Howey, Appear in Court Two Windsoi’ men, William Weidingei’ and Marvin Allen, appeared in Exetei' police court Wednesday charged with being in possession of stolen goods. They were remanded until today (Thursday i in Goderich Weidinger and Allen were ar­ rested by Grand Bend Police Constable John Cowan early Monday morning after several thefts had been reported at the lake shore resort. Articles which had beexx reported stolen were ■found on the two men. They had no money. Weidinger and Allen appealed on the grounds they had bought the merchandise.
