Exeter Blanks Lucan Irish;
Trimmed by Mitchell
Em Penhale pitched Exeter to
the first win in seven starts,
Monday night, by shutting out
the powerful Lucan Irish 1-0 in
their own backyard.
The local southpaw hurled
clever ball for nine innings to
chalk up the win he has waited
so long to get. He has lost two
games by close margins this
year and the holiday tilt was a
long overdue reward. He scat
tered five hits and had eight
strikeouts. Penhale also started
a double play in the sixth.

Perhaps never in its history
has politically minded Ottawa so
many and .provocative topics to

has to-day.
The possibilities of the Liber

perhaps even more controversial
its leadership is always good
for a spirited discussion. People
of all parties seem equally in

was inevitable because the party
is in power and because the new

All are catchers but you’d never know it. These Brooklyn Dodgers
are Gil Hodges, Roy Campanella and Bruce Edwards, all backstops,
but not all working at their trade. Hodges is playing first base and
Edwards third base. Campanella is catching but he’s also an out
fielder. The Dodgers are short-handed.
