Keyes of St. Mkrys, mod- erator of the Presbyterian church, occupied the pulpit in the church here in the village owing to the absence of Mr. McWilliam. Mr. Keyes preached a grand sermon, it being Sacra ment. There was a very good attendance. Word has been received from Miss Chalmers that she has ar rived safely in Scotland after making a flight to Scotland from Montreal. She was just a little over two days in the flight; She made the trip alone. Miss Margaret Scott was at home for a few holidays. At the time of writing Mrs. John Scott continues about the same, not much improvement. Air. Gardiner’s new home is at a stand still .waiting for the cement men who will be here some time this week. Mr. Jas. Scott has greatly improved the appearance of his bungalow, having given it a coat of paint. Air. Mr. Archie Parsons spent Fri day last in Detroit, Mich. There will be no services in St. Andrew’s United Church on Sunday next owing to the dec orating. Johns on Sunday. Young People Visit County Home, The Elimville Y.P.U. went to the Huron County Home at Clin ton on Thursday evening and entertained the inmates with a program. Everyone joined in singing 0 Canada, followed by a few words by Rev. Mair. Hymn 154 was sung followed by a vio lin selection by June Walters. A group sang “You Are My Sun shine”, accompanied by June Walters on the accordian. Mar garet Walters played a piano in strumental hymn 8 was sung. The group again sang ‘‘Old Black Joe”. Misses Ethelene and Eilene Johns favoured with a piano duet, followed with Mr. Mair and June Walters singing a duet “Softly and Tenderly Jesus in Calling”. Everyone joined in singing “John Brown’s Body”, Program closed With hymn 101 and national anthem. Mr, Jacobs gave a vote of thanks on behalf of his men and women in Huron County Home.
