Nomination Meeting At the nomination meeting held in the Town Hall, Hensail, Friday evening for the purpose of selecting a reeve, councillors, school trustees and hydro commissioner the follow­ ing list was chosen by acclamation: Reeve, A. Hydro Commissioner, Welsh. Arnold Circle Evening Auxiliary The Arnold Circle Evening Aux­ iliary met at the home of Mrs. M. Moir Monday evening with Mrs. L. Baynham co-hostess. Miss Jean Mc­ Queen presided and the meeting opened with the hymn “Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters’’ after which Mrs. A, W. Kerslake led in prayer. The scripture lesson Acts 3, was read by Mrs, R, MacLaren. The minutes, business and offering followed and the roll call was ans­ wered by “How to Attain Peace.” A committee comprising Mrs. Garnet Mousseau Mrs. H. Hoy and Mrs. Melvin Moir was selected to bring in the slate of, officers for 19 48. Mrs. Wm. Brown very ed the topic entitled Me”. Mrs. H, C. Dayman *— Monk Talbot Street Baptist Church in London, decorated with chrysanthe­ mums in fall shades, and lighted candlebra, was the scene of the marriage on Saturday of Edith Lu­ cinda, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Monk, London South, to Donald MacGregor Dayman, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Dayman, Kippen. Rev. Harold Trinier performed the ceremony and bridal music was played by the organist, Mr. W. R. Goulding. Entering the church with her father, the bride chose a gown of white slipper satin for her wedding. Fashioned with bateau neckline and the waist forming a point at the back, accented with a long pep­ lum, the gown was worn with a fingertip veil of illusion caught to a satin head dress. The bridal bou­ quet was a cascade of gardenias and white roses- with bouvardia. Attending her sister as maid of honor, Miss Jean Monk was gown­ ed in cerise taffetta with match­ ing halo headdress and muff show­ ered with gerberas and ivy. Mrs. W. G. Monk of Sarnia, sister-in-law of the bride, wore apple green taf­ fetta with similar matching acces­ sories. Jim Smith was groomsman and the ushers were Wesley Monk, of Sarnia, brother of the bride and Charles McMichael. At the re­ ception held at L^yn Lodge, Mrs. Monk received the guests wearing a two-piece ensemble of black crepe with pink and black acces­ sories and a corsage of pale pink roses. The groom’s mother chose a blue wool suit with 'black ac­ cessories and her flowers were red roses. For their honeymoon to Eastern Canada, the bride donned a gold wool suit with matching hat with black feather trim, black Persian lamb coat and black accessories.
