The
address of appreciation was read to
Rev. and Mrs. Trueblood and Irene.
On behalf of the Crediton congrega
tion Rev. Trueblood was presented
with a purse of money. Represent
ing the Woman"s Association, an
... ........j. was presented to Mrs.
I Trueblood and a gift of crystal to
Irene from the members of the
young ladies’ class of the church
school. Rev. and Mrs. Trueblood ex
pressed their appreciation of the
gifts, and of the many kindnesses
shown them during their stay here.
The address was as follows:
Mr. and Mrs. Trueblood and Irene:
We pause in the midst of our
gaiety and fun to remind ourselves
of how quickly the past three years
have sped away and of how fast the
time is approaching when you will
be leaving our community to take
up residence in Stratford. To you,
Mr. Trueblood, we would like to
express our appreciation of your
wonderful leadership, and the help
ful messages you have brought to
us each week. We have found you
to be a friend in whom we could
confide, and one who was always
ready and willing to help. While
we deeply regret your removal, our
prayers are that God will richly
bless your efforts on your new
field of labor. Kindly accept this
gift as a token of love and respect
from the Crediton congregation. To
you, Mrs. Trueblood, on behalf of
the members of the Woman's As
sociation, we would convey to you
our appreciation of your unfailing
efforts to help along with the work
of our Society. We have greatly en
joyed our associations with you and [have come to know you as a true
friend whom, to know, means to
love. We trust that the gift we pre
sent to you at this time will aid in
protecting you from the storms of
wind and rain, and hope that our
good wishes and prayers will help
to shield you from the storms or
life. And to you. Irene, the members
of the young ladies’ class in the
church school felt they could not
allow you to leave us without ex
pressing to you our appreciation
of your faithful attendance and help
each Sunday, and as you make new
friends in your new surroundings
we hope you will reserve a corner
in your memory for the Good Cheer
Class in Crediton. As an aid to this
end, we ask you to accept this gift,
not for its value, but as a remind-
( er of our many pleasant associa-
' tions.
Rev. Trueblood will bring his
farewell message to the congrega
tion on Sunday evening next.
