Mr. and Mrs. Lome Thompson and family, of Toronto, are holidaying at the home of Mrs. Thompson's par­ ents Mr. and Mrs, John Fisher. Mr, Marshall, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Flynn and Mrs. Miles, of London, were the guests of Mrs. Luker and Miss Gladys Luker on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Alger Brown and granddaughter, of Oxford, Mich., re­ turned home after a very pleasant visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cor­ bett. Freddie Robinson, who underwent an operation for appendicitis in the Scott Memorial Hospital, Seaforth, last week is quite ill at date of writ­ ing. Mr, John Craig, who underwent an operation recently in Victoria Hospital London, is improving and it is hoped will soon be able to return home, Mrs. Anna McDonald and Miss M. McAsh moved into their dwelling on Queen street, which they recently purchased from Mr. W. Jones, week. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Horton, have been visiting for the past eral weeks, with relatives in around town left on Monday for their home in Texas. Mr. and Mrs, Gus Voth and little daughter, who have been visiting with Mrs. Lou Simpson and Mrs. R. Bonthron for the past two weeks re­ turned to their home in Detroit on Sunday. Mr. Kemp and son Mr. Douglas Kemp and Mrs. Kemp, of Detroit, visited over the week-end with Mrs. Marjorie Sparks. Mrs. Kemp, who has been visiting for the past week with her mother returned home. Mrs. Wm. Dougall Sr., underwent a serious operation in Scott Mem­ erial Hospital, Seaforth on Sunday evening. On Monday evening Mrs. ■Dougall suffered a heart attack and the members of the family were call­ ed, Her many friends hope for an improvement and recovery. Mr. Robert Passmore conducted services in the United Church Sun­ day. At the morning service Mr. Laird Joynt of Toronto contributed a beautiful solo and in the evening the choir sang an anthem. Nexf Sunday service will be held in the morning only conducted by Mr. R. Passmore. A kitchen shower was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor last Thursday evening in honor of Miss Mrytle Taylor; of London bride-elect of next month. The ev­ ening was spent in games and con­ tests and a dainty lunch was served. Finkbeiner. .The meeting was closed .by a ’ song and sports were held on the lawn followed a dainty lunch. A vote of thanks the hostess and all committees charge was moved by Mrs. A.- Pleteh.
