Christmas sweaters
Most of Ms. Thorpe-Hearn’s Grade 1 class at North Woods Elementary School want to keep
their Christmas designs classic and, when asked, said that Santa, Christmas trees or
reindeers would feature prominently on their Christmas sweaters if they had the chance to
design it. (Denny Scott photo)
Ms. Thorpe-Hearn’s Grade 1/2
class at North Woods Elementary
School has Christmas on the mind
so, when The Citizen asked them
how they would design their own
holiday sweater, there were a lot of
traditional icons.
“If I could make my own sweater,
Santa would be on it and he would
be busy at the workshop. The elves
would be there and they would be
helping make presents for everyone.
It would be a red shirt.”
Brianna Benninger
“My shirt would have Christmas
trees on it and it would have lights
and have ornaments and a star. There
would be a tree on the front and on
the back it would say ‘Merry
Christmas’.”
Ava Strome
“There would be a reindeer
leading Santa’s sleigh on my shirt if
I could make one. It would be
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
There would be snowman walking
like Frosty the Snowman. He would
be wearing his own Christmas
sweater with himself on it wearing a
Christmas sweater.”
Colin Synder
“I would put Santa on my sweater.
He would be putting presents under
a Christmas Tree with ornaments
and stars on it. It would have the
same picture on the back and it
would be a green and red sweater.”
Lorenzo Hiebert
“Santa would be on my sweater
with a sleigh, but not his sleigh, a
normal sleigh. He would have on a
red snowsuit and be having fun. It
would have the same picture on the
back and it would be green so you
could see Santa’s suit.”
Sammy Bell
“There would be snow and trees
on my sweater because I like snow
and trees. They would be Christmas
trees and they would be decorated
