Reunion numbers up
despite poor weather

Sabrina Rankin of Sarnia was first
in the 18-and-under category and
Elyse Varny of Paris brought home
the silver. Stratford’s Joseph Flynn
was third.
In the duet open class, Rankin and
Ashley Giles of St. Marys were the
big winners.
The open class was led by Giles
and second and third places went to
Gerry Smith of Exeter and Marg
DeLonge of St. Marys, respectively.
More than 15 competitors took to
the stage for the various fiddling
classes.
In the step dancing program, the
nine-and-under class was won by
Leo Simon Stock of Stratford who
was followed closely by Anna Tigani
of Stratford and Mary Sabourin of
Wingham.
The 12-and-under class was won
by Katie Paradis of Milverton with
MacKenzie Dixon of Stratford and
Clara Roth of Tavistock taking
second and third place.
Patrick Linton of Mitchell won the
18-and-under step dancing class
with competitors Iain Grieve of
Embro and Julia Gwyn of St.
Marys taking second and third
places.
Chelsea Mott of Stratford won the
19-and-over class.
The Dikzy Chix of Stratford and
Milverton beat out Three Shirts and
a Skirt from Milverton, Stratford and
New Hamburg for the junior group
stepping class.
The open group class was won by
Two Lucky Guys, a collection of
several young men and women who
hail from Mitchell, Embro, St.
Marys and Stratford.
The jam sessions, fiddle classes
and various shows throughout
the week were nearly full according
to entertainment organizer
Gladys Van Egmond. She added that
the old tyme dance on Wednesday
evening was not only well
attended but also had great
participation.
“We had a very excellent weekend
and we are all very happy with how
it turned out,” she said.
