Four new Guides were enrolled in the Hayfield company on Tuesday even-
ing at a ceremony in the Trinity Parish Hall attended by parents, friends and

BAYFIELD — Council held
its regular meeting in the Town
Hall on Monday, December 6
at which time Reeve F. A. 'Cat
reported, to council an a letter
received by 'the Bayfield Li-
brary Board from the Regional
co-operative library system.
• Bayfdeld is asked to join and
although the library board was
in favour of the plan, they have
requested more information.
In other business, Mrs. Le-
roy Path was re-appointed Bay-
field's' representative to the
ODCI Board 'for 1966.
Some discussion took place
regarding the advantages and
disadvantages of a village PUC.
The clerk-treasurer was in-
structed by council to make en-
quiries regarding the installat-
ion of a telephone in the clerk's
office.
Council . also granted rise of
the hall to Scouts and Cubs on
Wednesday, December 22 in
lieu of the regular meeting
night, Tuesday, for their annual
Christmas 'gathering.

meeting of Unit 2 of the United
Chureh Women was held on
Wednesday at the home of Mr's.
John Siertserne.
Roll call was a donation for
the shut-in boxes. The devot-
ional was taken by Mrs. R.
Blair, Mrs. T. Penhale and. Mrs.
W. .McIlwain.
An invitation was accepted
to entertain patients at the
Ontario Hospital, Goderich, in
the new year.

Christmas Theme
At St. Andrew's
BAYFIELD — Unit 1 of St.
Andrew's United Church met in
the church on December 2. Mrs.
Bert Dunn, devotional leader,
used Christmas as the theme
for the day.
Scripture was read' by Miss
J. Sterling followed by prayer
by Mrs. Lindsay Smith.
The meditation read by Mrs,
Dunn expressed the fact that
with so much singing and mer-
ry-making, no thought is given
to. the real meaning of "Peace
on Earth." Mrs. Robert Scotch-
mer gave another chapter on
the study book, "God and His
Purpose."
Mrs, J. Lindsay took the
chair for the business part of
the meeting. The boxes for
shut-iris will be packed at the
home of Mrs. J. Lindsay on
Monday evening, December 20.
The slate of officers for the
new year was brought in' by
Mrs. H. Hohner.
Lunch was in charge of Mrs.
J. Scotehm.er, Mrs. B. Greer,
Mrs, H. Helmer and Mrs. B,
Talbot.
