After an instrumental num-.

Mrs. ,Tames Boughen,
Mrs. Boughen's talk was
based on four women of the
Bible — Lydia, Pheobe, Dorcas
and — and the many
different ways 'in which. they
served. their Master.
Lydia was a WOliderfql. 1)1.4$,
iness woman and speaker of
the Truth and one of tleterm,
ination and foresight, being
one of the first converts.
Priscilla was a Jewess, a
wonderful teacher, and • opened
her home to begin a church and
furthered the preaching of the
Gospel amid trials and tribu-
lations, finally giving her life
for the cause of religion.
Pheobe was probably ,the
first deaconess in the church,
while Dorcas was a hard-work-
ing charitable woman who.ser...•
ved and worked to help the
needy. Many societies are called
"Dorcas" in her memory.
The speaker called on. the
UCW to follow in the ways of
the great Bible women. in wit-
nessing for Christ and fulfil-
ling the total mission of the
church.
She urged Bible study and
discussion, periods, to help the
minister in every way they
could and to give leadership
especially in helping train
younger groups. •
Mrs. Triebner thanked Mrs,
Boughen for the address and
Mrs. Gordon Elliott presented
her with a gift.
Mrs. Howard Plant sang a
lovely solo accompanied by
Mrs. Henderson and following
the closing hymn, 'Mrs. Berry
led in, the closing prayer.
Lunch was served by the
young mothers' unit, concluding
a very happy Thankoffering.
