The CC&MB after a very
busy summer season are now
in the process of training new
personnel, re-vamping the or-
ganization and hard practice
and programming and fund
raising projects.
Many new members have
joined the organization in the
past few weeks as a replace-
ment program for present
members who will be lost to
the band in the near future.
In the colour party depart-
ment new members are: Carol
Mercer, Linda Moodie and El-
aine Westerhout who will take
part with the band on Novem-
ber 23 and 30. at the London
and Seaforth Santa Claus Par-
ades.
Looking towards perhaps
next year are: Maureen Lock-
wood, Linda Hicks, Valerie
Holland, Arlene Mountford and
Betty Hunter. Linda Stirling„
who trained under her sister,
Nancy Stirling, a past major-
ette, will take part in the San-
ta Claus Parades this year.
New majorette material for
the future also, are: Dru And-
rews, Judy Carter, Susanne
Shipp, Miny Middleton, Patsy
Priestap, Greta Burns, Sifirley
Dupee, Heather Dixon, Nancy
Pickett, Dianne Matthews, to
mention a few.
In the band department, new
members who it is hoped will-
be joining the band's parade
ranks next summer are: Larry
Plan Canvass

in an every-member canvass of
the congregation at Wesley-
Willis United Church met on
Monday of this week and were
informed of what could be done
in the church if anticipated
stewardship commitments are
met,
Garnet Harland, chairman of
the vision committee of the
"Partnership in the Gospel"
prOjeCt, outlined some of the
needs in the church in regard
to financial and Christian ser-
vide,
E. Beecher 1VienzieS, general
chairman, of the project, also
spoke, as 'did judge Frank Fine-
land,
Other Committee chairmen
include Les Ball, who is contact
committee chairman and Wil-
liam Ilearu, publicity chairman.
The needs of the church will
be presented to the congrega-
tion at a smorgasbord dinner
to be held in the church on
Wednesday, November 18,
Special speakers and flints
will outline the aim of the pro-
ject and congregation Membeit
present will have an opportun-
ity to Make their stewardship
commitments at this time,
The, canvassers also plan to
visit the remaining members of
the Congregation On Sunday,
November 17, About 30 tanvaS,
sett, working in pairS, Will Visit
those not able to attend the
congregational dinner,
Main purpose of the project
is to revitalize interest in the
church and also to present the
financial appeal of the local
church to its members.

Canadian Legion, Ladies' Auxiliary

are asked to be at the Legion Hall

The parade will leave theLeg-
ion Hall at 10:40, headed by the
Clinton Pipe Band, also RCAF Std-
tion Trumpet Band will be in at-
tendance, arriving at the Cenotaph
at 10:50,
The general public is asked to
attend the Service in the hall.
Mercer, trumpet; Janice Tre-
wartha, clarinet; Andrew Am-
sing, trombone; Jimmy Middle-
ton, baritone; Ken Mermen,
trumpet; as well as the sons
of George McIntyre and Dan
Petersen on drums,
As well as the parades men-
tioned, three indeor concerts
during the winter months are
planned and will feature out-
side guest artists as well as
good concert band music, in-
dividual member's, numbers and
colour party's and majorette's
routines.
All uniforms have been al-
tered and dressed up for the
coming parades and the band
will sport a bigger colour party
section as well as some new
equipment.
Also in the near future it
is hoped a tag day and a raf-
fle will be held. It. is planned
that the raffle draw be held
at the band's Christmas party
on Tuesday, December 17. Ag-
ain it is hoped that everyone
will watch for these events,
and support your band.
Routine studies, dress re-
vamping and hard practice over
the winter should give a big-
ger, better and mare impres-
sive organization for spring of
1964.
There has been a thought to
change the name of the group
for next year such as The Blue
Jets, Royal Blues, etc, The
band officials welcome any sug-
gestions as to a new name for
1964.
Stephen Currie and Michel'
Elliott on trumpets and Ken
Hamilton on baritone, also
should be joihing the parade -
ranks in 1964.
With all new and regular
members, the CC&MB now
boasts roughly 70 members of
all ages, on enrolment. This, the
band officials feel, is a big step
to help keep young and old
alike busy, out of trouble and
helping to represent and better
the town of Clinton.
