Exchange Vows In Hensall
Rev. Ross McDonald Officiat-
ed at the pretty wedding cere-
mony held in the Carmel Pres-
byterian manse in Hensall on
June 22, when Robert John
Melvin Webster exchanged vows
with Gloria June Tinney.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Melvin L. Webster,
Varna, while the bride's par-
ents are Mr. and Mrs. Benja-
min M. Tinney, RR 1 Exeter.
Baskets of white 'mums with
pink snapdragons adorned the
room and the bride was given
in marriage by her father, and
was dressed in a floor length
gown of chantilly lace and ny-
lon tulle over slipper satin, The
fitted bodice featured a square
neckline trimmed in irridescent
sequins and seed pearls with
lily point sleeves.
The aisle-wide skirt of lace
and net was trimmed with a
double row of nylon ruffles and
she carried a bouquet of deep
carnations and ivy.
Mrs. Lloyd Fletcher, Kirk-
ton, attended her sister and
she wore a gown of white frost-
ed lace over pastel blue taffeta
with street length bell shaped
skirt and fitted bodice.
William Dowson, Varna, was
the groom's attendant.
The reception was held at
the church parlours where the
bride's mother received the
guests wearing a beige ensemble
with three-quarter length jac-
ket of lace; brown and green
accessories and bronze 'mum
corsage.
She was aided by the groom's
mother, who chose a blue lace
dress with white accessories
and a corsage of pink 'mums.
In the evening, a reception
and dance was well-attended in
the Zurich Community Centre
and the young couple, who
travelled to Northern Ontario
for a honeymoon, were present-
ed with a well-filled purse.
Guests from Clinton, Brus-
sels, Kirkton, Bayfield, Varna,
Hensall, Exeter and Seaforth
attended the recepl:ion.

Enjoy Tours Of
Game Sanctuary
Prior to school closing last
week, the students at St. Jo-
seph's Separate School enjoyed
two outings.
On Thursclay they visited the
local Fish and Game club
grounds and were given guided
tours among the various ani-
mals and bird edges by Barrett
Taylor and Harold Fretnlin.
Mrs. George Carbert, prin-
cipal of .the school, reported the
children "really enjoyed" the
nature-science hike„
The senior students at the
school also enjoyed a party at
Bayfield, while the intermed-
iate and juhior pupils had a
weiner roast at the school.
The students returning in the
fall Will have a neW principal,
Michael Hallahan, who has
been teaching at Blyth,
Mrs. Carbert will continue
on the staff as will Miss Anton/
ette VanDenHerigel, while Mrs.
Stella Gasser is leaving to ac-
cept another teaching position.

Okinawa Islands
Mrs, James Makins was in
charge pf the devotional ex-
ercises for the June meeting of
the WMS held in the school
room of the church and opened
the meeting with a scripture
reading, followed by meditat-
ion on "For Thine is the King-
dom, the Power and the Glory."
This was followed by prayer
by Mrs. McKenzie.
The president, Mrs. William
Blacker, took charge of the
business. Eleven calls were
made to sick and shut-ins.
A very interesting talk on
the Okinawa Islands was given
by Mrs. Farquhar who also
conducted a quiz. The meet-
ing closed with a hymn and
The Lord's Prayer in unison.
Members of the Mission
Band and their mothers were
present and entertained the
WMS with a musical program
and tap dancing which was
much enjoyed.
Lunch was served by mem-
bers of the Band and WMS
and a social hour was spent
together.

of pink carnations.
She was assisted by the
groom's mother who wore a
pale green cotton sheath dress
with white accessories and she
also wore a corsage of pink
carnations.
Following the reception, the
bride donned a pastel green
linen sheath with full, length
duster lined in matching print-
ed silk and her accessories
were all white.
The couple travelled to Niag-
ara Falls and New York state
for a honeymoon trip and on
their return will Make their
home in Clinton.

to Mr, and Mrs. Johnston and a
bouquet of roses to Mrs. John-
ston.
Following Mr. Johnston's ex-
pression of appreciation on be-
half of his wife and himself,

pretty setting in St. Peter's
Luthern Church, Zurich, when

Anna Marlene McLachlan ex-
changed wedding vows before

The groom is the sob of Mr.
Peter Deichert, Zurich, and the
bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William McLachlan,
Kippen.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride looked lovely in
her traditional floor length
gown of the most delicate chan-
tilly lace. The bodice was high-
lighted by a scalloped bateau
neckline touched with shimmer-
ing sequins, long lily point
sleeves and a basque waist.
The full-length flowing bouf-
fant skirt featured tiers of the
Tame scalloped lace, while over
this were two penises on either
side cascading to a romantic
chapel train,' To complete her
bridal outfit, the bride wore a
nylon illusion fingertip veil
caught up by a queen's crown
headpiece of tiny seed pearls
and shimmering sequins.
Miss Janet Gilchrist, Exeter,
was maid of honour, while Miss
Sharon Switzer, Clinton, and
Miss June McLachlan, London,
were bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in
waltz length dresses of romance
blue satapeau and wore match-
ing blue bows and trimmed
with blue net. They carried
baskets of white shasta 'mums
with blue tulle,
The flower girl, Miss Marlene
Fields, was dressed in white
French lycene over taffeta with
a blue cummerbund. She wore
a blue headpiece and carried a
basket of white shasta 'mums
with blue tulle.
Karl Deichert, Zurich, was
groomsman and the guests were
ushered by Frederick Deichert,
Clinton and John McLachlan,
Kippen.
The ringbearer was Cecil
Fields.

Messengers was held on Sun-
day with approximately 20 in
attendance. The meeting open-
ed with the repeating of the
purpose and Janet Graham re-
ceived the offering which was
dedicated.
The minutes of the last two
meetings were read by Lawr-
ence Elliott and • they were
adopted. Gordon Henderson
