All is not athletics and studying at Clinton District Collegiate Institute.
This team of members of the Youth for Christ group was successful in topping
all other competitors in Bible quizzes held in the county. From the left, seated
are Bill Ferguson, Vic Cornish, Ed Martin and Ron Westlake. Standing are
George Simons, Bayfield, coach; Rosalie Westlake, Ineke Zondag, Sandra West-
lake and Pat Robinson, and D. John Cochrane, principal of the collegiate. The
trophy has been in competition for three years, with Wingham and Exeter
secondary school teams winning the other times. The quiz members plan to
attend a ten-day camp at Glen Rocks on Lake Rousseau this summer, toward
which their win has earned them' a $100 award. The fine trophy will go on

ing of the CWIe held in St.

members present. The opening

Mrs. Varga thanked all the
ladies for making the June 2
bake sale a 'success.
Mrs, F. Burns and Mrs. J.
Seruton have kindly consented
to being joint conveners for
the rectory tea this year. The
League will be forever grateful
to past conveners Mrs. C. Trott
and Mrs. D. Kay for the won-
derful jobs they have done,
and by recording everything
and -passing it err to their sue-
ceasors. This will make it so
much easier for the new con-
veners, and the League wishes
them every success.
Reports were given on the
42nd Diocesan Convention held
in London and attended' by Mrs.
Varga and Mrs. E. O'Brien.
During May 15 sick calls were
made and one baby medal giv-
en.

combined Clinton and Blyth
parish picnic to be held on
July 22, A short talk was giv-
en by the Rev. L. E. Reede
Lewis on the Legend of Mary.
After a social hour enjoyed
by all', a pink frosted' cake was
won by Mrs. L. Denearime and
baskets of canned goods were
won by Mrs. S. Gra- ser, Mrs.
E, O'Brien and Mrs. B. Gild-
don. A delicious lunch was then
served. -

Attend The
District Rally

On Saturday, June 2, Exeter
played host to some 225 Girl
Guides at the annual Huron
Dist:mint Rally. With flags un-
furled Guides from Goderich,
Zurich, Hensall, Centralia, Ex-
eter ' and Clinton paraded
through the town to Riverside
Park. Miss Una Macdonald,
Huron District Commissioner,
reviewed the, girls as they
marched 'by.
After • formation. of 'their
horseshoe the Guides were led
iri the Girl Guide promise by
Mrs. Cameron Proctor, Cilnten,
Commissioner for Clinton and
Bayfield area, The Guide Laws
were repeated in unison led by
Miss Mary IVIcMillan, Deputy
Commissioner for the district.
Mrs. N. T. Orrn'andy, Godlerich,
Was in charge of the flags.
The afternoon was rapidly
spent in games on the inter-
national -theme. The Guides di-
vided into groups and went to
flags of different countries, to
play 'games representative of
them. The flags used were: the
,Greece, Burma,
Australia, Italy, U.S.A., New
Zealand, Belgium, Cyprus,
Supper was enjoyed with the
Guides sitting in groups, ac-
cording 'to their birthdays and
ended' with a. singsong around
bhe campfire.
