The men of Trivitt Mr. Ellis home for Memorial church served a successful hot fowl supper to about four hundred per sons in the Parish Hall Wednesday evening. CAVEN CIRCLE The regular monthly meeting of the Caven Congregational Circle was held at the holme of Mrs. Rod Ellis, with a good attendance of the Pres byterian ladies Miss Jeckell led in the devotional exercises. A very in teresting letter was read from Mrs. Jean Hackett, of South America, a . daughter of Mrs. Lewis Love. It was ' decided to hold a bazaar cn Satur day. December 7 th at a down-town vacant store. The various booths will be arranged as Baby, Country Store, Apron, Rummage, White Ele phant, Notions, Quilts and Fancy work, Home Cooking and Candy and Afternoon Tea. This should prove quite novel and attractive. George Hunter is confined to his bed through illness. Mrs. Elston visited in London over the week-end. Mrs. W. W. Taman is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Goodison, of Sarnia. Mr. Cecil Stewart is again able to be out following his prolonged ill ness. Miss Mary Gardiner, of Usborne, was the guest of Miss. Meta Salter on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. two, children spent Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. A. Detroit, visited the latter's mother over the week-end. Miss Margaret Taman and Mies Sluter, of London, spent Sunday at the former’s home here. Miss Gertrude Francis, w'as the guest of Mies Gladys McLean, at Kippen, over the holiday, Messrs. Ulrie Snell and Harvey Pollen were in Toronto over the holi day taking in the motor show. Mr. Robt. Buchanan, of Donegal, brother of Mrs. R. Terry, visited with them for a couple of days. Miss Esther Sotheran, of Ford- wich, was a pleasant caller on old friends in Exeter cn Friday last. Mr. and Mrs’. P. W- David and eon Grant, of London, spent the holiday with Mr. and Mrs. George’ Grant. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Carey visited with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Grant, of Glencoe, over the holiday week-end. Mrs. Lawson and daughter, Evelyn visited .with the former’s daughter Dorothy in Toronto over the week end. Misses Audrey Davis and Mary Geddes spent the week-end and holi day with Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Tuckey. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Sanders returned Saturday after vis iting for two weeikis with Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Gill at Lakeview Inn, Grand Bend. IMr. and Mrs. .George Beavers, of Toronto, and Mr. Reg. Beavers, of Sarnia, spent the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. F. Beavers. Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hopper and two children motored to Wingham for over the holiday. Mr. Hopper went on to Toronto and took in the motor show. iMr. and Mrs. Morley Wilson and babe Mary Ellen, of Dresden, accom panied by Rev. and Mrs. McGongan visited recently, with relatives in this community. Next Sunday will be observed as White Gift Sunday at Caven Presby terian Sunday School. The early showing .of the 1936 cars seems bo be stimulating business. Mr. Elliot reports the sale of a new car every day since the new V8 was announced. The Exeter Branch of the Can adian Legion are sponsoring a Xmas concert to be put on in Leavitt’s Theatre on Monday, December 16th. The concert will be put on by the children pf town and the proceeds used in securing Christinas cheer for distribution among, the children at the holiday season.
