The horse shoe club have located a fine pitching grounds in the Old skating rinik, Misses Margaret and Lizzie Slavin spent the holiday with their in Chiselhurst, Mr, Wm» Foster and Mr. Douglas spent Saturday friends in London. Miss Irene Hoggarth has ed home after a pleasant visit with her sister in Toronto. Mr. Royce Welsh has left for Mt. Brydges where he is engaged as pit cher* for a baseball team. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McLean, of Hamilton, are visiting at the home of Mr, and Mrs. John Passmore, Misses Margaret and Beryl Drum mond left last week for Kincardine where they have secured positions Mr. and Mrs. A, J. Sweitzer and children, of Detroit, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Hig gins. Miss don, is parents en. Mr. and Mrs., Geo, T. Mickie have returned to their home in Ridge town after a pleasant visit with their son here. The 24th passed quietly in the village. A number of our citizens enjoyed themselves fishing while others attended the horse races at Mitchell, Anniversary services were held in the United church on Sunday last. The Rev, Waldemar Williams, of Sarnia, assisted by Rev. Mr. Con nor, of Kippen preached to large congregations at both services. Mr. Harry Hoffman, of Dashwood rend ered pleasing solos both morning and evening and a trio was given by Mrs, M. Drysdale and Misses Florence Welsh and Greta Lammie. Annivesary services were held in Carmel Presbyterian Church on Sun day last. Large congregations at tended at both services and the Rev. Benny, of Acton, formerly of *^Rhitchell, delivered very instructive addresses. ■ ■ At the morning service a quartette was given by Mrs, W. A. McLaren, Mrs. Murdock, Mr. R. Y. McLaren and Mr. W. A. McLaren. A very pleasing solo was rendered by Mrs. Jas. Bonthron and a men’s cborus: was'also given at the even ing service. The Welfare of Youth Club of the Carmel Presbyterian Church held their meeting on Monday evening. After the opening exercises the Bible Lesson was read by Miss An nie Huiser. A discussion of hymn and their authors took place follow ed by a banjo and mouthorgan sel ection by Mr. Mtelvin M)oir after which a reading was very ably given by Mrs. R. Y. McLaren. The meet ing closed with hymn and prayer. Leaving Hensall Mr. S. L. Peppier has been trans ferred to the bank at Courtland and we believe he and Mrs. Peppier will move there shortly. Heard Over CJGC Residents of Hensall and vicinity were very interested and pleased with the CJGC, London Free Press Radio Station on Monday evening. Fred Harburn and Miss Doreen Mc- Nicol, of Cromarty and also Mr. W. Hyde and the Misses Effie, Eleanor and Loretta Bell, gave several sel ections of old time music. One of Mr. Hyde’s selections were given at the request of Mr. Alex Henry, of Casolity, Mich., a former Hensall and Hibbert old boy. We hope these artists will be frequently heard over the radio as their part of the pro gram was greatly enjoyed. presentation and Address The Young People of the St. Paul’s Anglican Church held their regular meeting on Monday evening. A formal hour was spent and refresh ments served.
