No. 133 at the regu lar meeting of the Lodge on Mon day evening next. ' Following the regular business of the evening a banquet will be sewed in the Town Hall. Several members of the Masonic Order were in Goderich on Friday night of last week attending an “At Home” of Maitland Lodge No. 83 A. F. & A. ,M. at which Rt. Wor. Deputy Grand Master F. A. Copus, of Stratford, was the guest of the evening. Mr. Copus delivered a very earnest and forceful address. D. D. G. M. Bro. L. R. Cole, of Hensail, was also' present and gave a short address. A pleasant surprise party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Car man Cann on Thursday evening. During the course of the evening a handsome reed rocker was present ed to their nephew and neice by Mr. and Mrs. W. Johns, Mrs. A. Gardin er, Mt. and Mrs. P. Passmore and Mr, and Mrs. G. Duncan. The even ing was spent playing cards after which a dainty lunch was served. An added attraction at the even ing service at the James Street church on Sunday was the presence of a bat whose acrobatic stunts in flying, diving and circling the aud- totium caused both amusement and consternation. The soothing strains of the first hymn caused the ibat to settle down and evidently enjoy the remaining part of the service. The large pipes of the organ seem, to bo the breeding ground for these uncanny specimens of flying mam-, mals.
