He was possess­ ed of a fearless temperament, strong will and pursued life’s interests with unusual thoroughness and system.. Mr. Redmond was a brother of the late Rev. Richard Redmond of the London Conference who died in Toronto on October last. He is sur­ vived by his widow Annie Margaret Rousom, three daughters, Mrs, W G. Whitney, of Milverton; Mrs. Ho­ ward Harper, of Goodwood, Ontario and Mrs, R. R. pinnegar, of Dor­ chester, Ont. and .three sons, the Rev. John A, Redmond M.A., S.T.B Minister of the First Methodist Epis­ copal Church, of Potsdam, N, Y.; Clifford, of Moravis, N. Y. and Wes­ ley, of Syracuse, N. Y, Thirteen grandchildren survive him also one sister, «Mrs. J. L. Parr, of Wrintham.. Alberta-. The farewell services were held Friday, August 4th privately at the house and at St. Paul’s United church in Milverton. Interment was made in the Greenwood ceme­ tery, Milverton, The Rev. R. REDMOND DIES Charles Abbott Redmond born in Hay Township, Huron County, On­ tario, May 21, 185 8, died at his home near Milverton, Ontario, July 31st. The. greater part of his life was lived in the vicinity of "Huron County. Being retired for many years on account of failing health he resided in Belleville, Ontario un­ til 1928 previous to making his home in Miornington near the village of Milverton. Mr. Redmond was an citizen of sterling character and highly respected in every walk of life by all who knew him. He was a lifelong member and official of (the Methodist Church previous to the union. Since the union he was a loyal member of the United church of Canada. Mr. Redmond came of pioneer Irish stock, the son of John Redmond and Ann Abbott. A fire broke out about 12:30 o’­ clock on Monday night in the bakery operated by Leonard Bender. The blaze was first noticed by Hubert Restemeyer, who immediately sum­ moned the fire department, whose timely assistance1 prevented what might have been a .serious fire. The fire is said to .have started around the oven at the rear of the shop and considerable damage was done be­ fore it was checked. The* proprietor was at Grand Bud at the time, Robt Hopcraft, aged 16, an employee who sleeps upstairs was aroused by the fire fighters after breaking in the font door. The loss will be cov­ ered by insurance. The death occurred on Wednesday Aug. 2nd, 1933, of Mrs. William Maier (nee Katherine iSachs) at the age of 69 years, 10 .months and 20 days. She was born in Hay ITwp. and has been a resident of Dashwood all her life.
