MAKES FINE SHOWING The Exeter School has again made a splendid showing in the Entrance examinations a report of which ap­ pears on another page. Out of the nineteen pupils who tried prepared by the principal Mr, G. S. Howard, ’nineteen were successful, being one hundred per . cent, which reflects great credit upon the teacher and the class. Ten pupils received first class honours and three second class honours. The splendid showing is all Tom, the more noteworthy in view og {he fact that from London comes the re­ port that the arithmetic and spelling .papers were exceptionally hard and the failures were greater than usual Miss Jeanette Taman is to be con­ gratulated on winning the Exeter Board of Education Scholarship for the Exeter District. Miss Loreen Borland of S. S. No. 2, Usborne, won the prize offered by J. Elgin Tom, former School Inspector, for obtaining highest marks by any pu- ’ pil from a one-room school. The first prize awarded to the pupils of the Exeter School was won by, John McTavish. John contracted the measles a short time before the ex­ aminations and was allowed back to school only the day before tlgey started.
