Every nomination Shall be in writing
and state the name, residence, and oc-
cupation of the candidate and the resi-
dence and occupation of the proposer
and seconder and shall be signed by
the proposer and seconder., both of
whom shall be municipal electors ond
present, and shall be filed with the
returning officer within one hour from
the opening of the nomination meet-
ing.
When a proposed candidate is not
present, his nomination paper shall not
be valid unless there is evidenee satis-
factory to the returning officer that he
contents to be so nominated.
Nearly 200 students at •Cain
ton District Collegiate Insti-
tute received diplomas during
Commencement exercises last
Friday night. The important
event commenced with a digni-
fied . processional led by the
principal and staff members, all
in black robes and hoods, signi-
fying the university from which
they had received a degree.
Along with them were the
guest speaker, Hugh Bremner
of °FPI, Radio and TV, and
special guests who took part
in presentation of bursaries,
and board members,
Following the "platform
party" were the students re-
ceiving honour graduation dip-
lomas (Grade 13 last year) and
those receiving diplomas (gen-
eral course) (in Grade 12 last
year).

the Loadan, Road Club has been
cancelled, The October meet-
ing was held at the home pf

members present,
One thankyou card was read,

Overseas Folk
Deadline dates for Christmas
mail destined for Canada's
Armed Forces serving abroad
have been announced by
National Defence Headquart-
ers.
First class mail addressed to
the British Isles and Europe
must reach Montreal by De-
cember 11. Air parcel post
for England will be in Montreal
the same date but one day
earlier if addressed! to Europe,
the Middle East and the Congo.
Air mail letters to Britain
must reach Montreal by De-
cember 16 and December 12 if
going 'to Europe. Ordinary par-
cel post and newspapers ad-
dressed to England will arrive
Montreal by November 24 while
November 10 is the final date
for Europe.
Ordinary letters, parcels •and
newspapers must reach Mont-
real by December 7 if they
are to arrive in the Middle
East and the Congo in time
for Christmas. For airmail let-
ters to these destinations De-
cember 12 is the deadline.
When sending air mail let-
ters and air parcel posit to
Indo China via Box 220, Sai-
gon, post not later than Novem-
ber 30.
A special airlift service to
send one parcel to each mem-
ber of the 'Canadian Delegation
to Indo China has been arrang-
ed and next-of-kin have been
notified.
Postal authorities have an-
nounced that particular care
should 'be taken to ensure that
all mail for Canadian Forces
overseas is properly addressed
and fully prepared' at the auth-
orized' rates of postage. A cus-
toms declaration form 91B
must be completed and affixed
to all parcels.

Woman's Missionary Society of
Wesley-Willis United Church
was held in the -church parlour
on. November $. Mrs, Frank
Fingiand presided.
Reports were heard. There
were 22 home rails, one hospi-
tal call and two Baby Band,
calls. A letter of thanks will
be sent to Mr. and Mrs. M.
R. Rennie for helping with
Thankoffering service on Octo-
ber 29, The WMS will pack a
bale of secondhand clothing
on November 27 in the church.
Next meeting will be held on
regular date.
