Prize Canaries
In Bird Show
From Clinton
Harry Weymouth last week
entered 15 of his 40 canaries
in the bird show held in Lon-
don by the London and Dist-
rict Cage Bird Association. He
came home from the show with
eight first prize red ribbons
and five blue ones denoting
second prizes.
This is no small achievement
in a show which included 1,400
birds (both canaries and bud-
gies).
Mr. Weymouth who is em-
ployed at the Clinton Post Of-
fice, and lives with his wife in
the apartment in that building,
has his birds in cages there.
Both he and Mrs. Weymouth
attended the Bird Show on
Thursday evening.
Visitors with Mrs. Hebden,
64 Princess Street East were
Mr. and Mrs. E. Brown and
daughters, Landon.
Mn. and Mrs, R. W. Bous-
kill, Toronto spent the week-
end with Mrs. Wilmer Wallis
and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jenkins.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Willard,
Buffalo were the guests of her
mother, Mrs. J. W. Shobbrook
over the weekend.
Gordon Cuninghame has re-
turned from the annual out-
ing of the "Nimrods" at their
cabin, Baie-de-Dore, Bruce
Penninsula.
Cecil R. Holmes and son
Peter, Kingston, spent the
weekend with his mother, Mrs.
W. S. R. Holmes. Mr. Holmes

The meeting of the Woman's
Missionary Society of Ontario
Street United Church will be
held on Tuesday, November 14
at 2.30 p.m. in the church par-
lour.

Holds Anniversary
Mrs. George Potter presided
for the Woman's Association
meeting in Ontario Street Unit-
ed Church on Tuesday after-
noon and Mrs. E. Radford was
at the piano. Devotions • were
taken by Mrs. W. M. Aiken on
the theme "Our Willing Ser-
vice", I Peter 5.
Visiting committee reported
making 32 calls; two thank-you
cards were read' and flowers
were sent to eight sick and
shut-ins. Roll call was answer-
ed by giving an article for the
bazaar and final details of the
bazaar and tea on December 2,
were decided upon.
Mrs. M. Wiltse reported on
the sectional meeting of pres-
bytery of the WA and WMS at
Goshen United Church on Oc-
tober 25.
An interesting program was
conducted in conjunction with
the celebration of the 75th an-
niversary of the Ontario Street
WA which was known in the
beginning, as the Ladies' Aid.
Mrs. Mervyn Batldrr wire a
reading, "Reminiscences of the
past." Mrs, J. B. Lavis gave a
history of the organization of
the WA in 1866, and named all
presidents up to the present
(except for one omission).
A skit entitled "Young Man
in Dilemma" was directed by
Mrs. R. Fear, with a cast:
Cathy Aiken, Mrs. Arthur Aik-
en, Mrs. Grant Mills, Mrs. Ken
Pickett, Mrs. John Merrill and
Mrs. Ross Merrill. A chorus
was composed of Miss E. Plum-
steel, Mrs. Roy Plumsteel, Mrs.
Bert Gray, Miss S. Courtice,
Miss E. Wiltse and Mrs. E.
Radford was at the piano.
Mrs. C. Merrill who acted
the part of the young man, and
all 'those taking part, including
Mrs. M. Batkin, were dressed
in styles of the gay nineties.
After closing 'benediction, a
delicious lunch including a 75th
anniversary cake was served by
the ladies of the Bayfield Road,
Highway 4 South and Highway
8 East, convened by Mrs. E.
Trick and Mrs. H. Plumsteel.
Appreciation to the program
and lunch conveners was ex-
pressed by Mrs. G. Potter.

30 sat down to a lovely dinner
provided by Mrs. Howard's sis-
ters and families from Wood-
stock.
Visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
E. W. Colquhoun on the week-
end were Flight Sergeant and
Mrs. L. H. Theedom, and dau-
ghter Robyn, RCAF Station,
Lac St. Denis, Quebec, Mrs.
Theedom attended the George

program at the collegiate on
