al verse on Thanksgiving Mrs.
Alvin Dutot gave the financial
statement,
A letter was received from
Mrs. John Middleton, Goderich,
secretary of the deanery of Hu-
ron WA inviting the members
to the fall sessions of the dean-
as,/ of Huron to be held in St.
Paul's Church, Clinton, on
Thursday, October 26, at 2,30
p.m. Canon W, J, Zimmerman of
Her Majesty's Chapel of the
Mohawks, Brantford, will be
the special speaker.
A letter of invitation was re-
ceived from the WA of Trinity
Church, Bayfield, inviting the
members to their meeting in
the Parish Hall on Thursday,
October 19. The Rev. George
Hamilton, formerly of Old
Crow, Yukon, will be the spec-
ial speaker. This invitation
was accepted with pleasure.
Mrs. Edward Wise spoke on
the current project of collect-
ing food product labels with
the aim of obtaining a large
coffee urn.
Kelvin Jervis showed a splen-
did religious educational film
entitled "Where None Shall
Thirst." The setting was in
India and showed the struggle
of a native preacher seeking
salvation for himself and for
his village congregation on the
shores of the Nahluida River.
Mrs. Ray Wise moved a vote
of thanks to Mrs. Don Middle-
ton and to her brother Kelvin
for this exceptional film show-
ing.
Mrs. Edward Wise gave an
editorial on the history of
Thanksgiving. Mr. Harrison
closed the meeting with pray-
er after which the ladies serv-
ed lunch, with Mrs. Fred Mid-
dleton acting as hostess.
