will be guest speaker and Miss
Gayle Attwell, Becton, will be
soloist at both services. Special
music is being prepared by the
choir.
4-H Homemakers
The Thrifty Kippenettes held
their fourth meeting at the
home of leader Mrs, H. Cald-
well. Roll call was answered
by 16 members, Grace Riley
was appointed secretary for the
next meeting on October 14 at
9 a.m. again at Mrs. Caldwell's
home,
Mrs. McGregor gave out the
roll call and home assignments
and spoke about the uses of
fruit. Mrs, Caldwell spoke of
the importance of agood break-
fast, since it was the main
meal of the day, and said every-
one should eat two or more
fruits a day.
Miss Isabelle Gilchrist made
of the Credit Union is holding
a banquet on the International
Credit Union Day, at the
Legion Hall, Exeter, Thursday,
October 19 at 7 p.m. A speak-
er from the Credit Union
League, Hamilton, will speak,
and a program of outside talent
will perform. Belgrave, Clin-
ton, Goderich, Mitchell and Ex-
eter will be represented. Tick-
ets are available at any of
these credit unions.
Hensall Women's Institute
will meet in the Legion Hall,
Wednesday, Optober, 1,1 ,at 8.15
p.m. Roll call will be an ex-
change of potted plants. The
motto "Buried seeds grow, bur-
ied talents never grow," pre-
pared by Mrs. Ian McAllister,
will be given by Mrs. Lorne
Chapman. A good program is
beingarranged by the program
conveners Mrs. Walker Car-
lile and Mrs. Wes Richardson.
Wins 100F Draw
Mrs., Ross Richardson, Zu-
rich, was the winner of the re-
clining chair, and Miss Gwen
Hay, Varna, the pop-up toaster,
in a draw Saturday night at
the lodge hall here. Elgin Mc-
Kinley, Zurich, drew the win-
ning tickets. The project, sp-
onsored by the C.P. and T.
committee of the IOOF and
Amber Rebekah Lodge was a
great success financially.
