The late Miss Phillips was, born on May 24, 1895 in Hul- lett Township, a daughter of the late John Phillips and Mettle (Lansing) Phillips, After graduatirg from Clin- ton Business College, she held positions in Toronto, being con- nected with Phoenix Assurance Company, Toronto for 33 years. She resided in Toronto, Since her retirement in 1957, until May 1 when she C0111.0 to re- sid'e in 'Clinton. Very gone( after, she was stricken with an illness which tensed her death in Clin- ton Public Hospital On. July 22. She attended' St, Columba United Church in Toronto. She. is survived by one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Merrill, RR 2, Clinton, and seven nieces: and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Orval Phillips, Mitchell on January 5, 1947.
