graphed at Niagara Falls with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Eaton, Agincourt. The
Newcombes were attending for the first time, the Ontario Retail Pharma-
cists' Association Convention from June 11 through June 14. Both pharma-
cists graduated from. the Ontario College of Pharmacy in 1936 and are
celebrating their 25th Alumni Year at the Convention.

St. Joseph's Rector Honoured
By CWL On His Anniversary
A spiritual bouquet and the
offering of a High Mass, to
mark the anniversary of his
ordination to the Holy Priest-
hood, was presented to Rev. L.
E. Reed -Lewis, Clinton, by the
members of the St. Joseph sub-
division of the Catholic Worn-
elni's League. Father Reed -Lewis
who is the spiritual director of
the sub -division, was made the
presentation at the June meet-
ing by Mrs. Lawrence Denim -
me.
With the president, Mrs. Ar-
nold Dale, in the chair, an in-
formative and interesting re-
port .on the recent London, Dio-
cesan convention of the Cath-
olic Women's League, held in
Chatham, was given by Mrs,.
David Varga, first vice-presi-
dent. The convention was at-
tended by Mrs. Dale, Mrs. Var-
ga, Mrs. F. C. Burns and Mrs.
John Ana4ett.
Guest speaker tat the meet-
ing, Mrs. A. M. Looby, Dublin,
told of her tour of Ireland, a
ihighlighrt of which was the
conveying of official greetings
from Dublin, Ontario, to the
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ire-
land, Mrs. Looby was introduc-
ed by Father Reed -Lewis, and
thanked by Mrs. Dale.
On behalf of the sub -division,
Mrs. Lloyd Medd, second vice-
president,
impresident, presented,gifts to
Mrs. David Kay and Mrs. Fr-
ank Van Altera, both of whom
recently retired from the ex-
ecutive.
Wednesday, September 27,
was the date set for the annual
rectory ,tea, with Mrs. David
Kay and Mrs. C. A. Trott as
conveners. The annual bazaar
is slated to be held in the par-
ish hall on Saturday, October
28, with Mrs. Alvin Sharp and
Mrs. Vilrticent Reles as conven-
ers
onveners of the sale of tickets.

Each member of the First
Holy Communion class of Sun-
day were presented with a rel-
igious gilt by the league. Mrs.
Dale reported that members of
the league assisted in manning
the hospital cant during the
month of May and that a del-
egated number of members at-
tended the recent hospital aux-
iliary tea.
Reports were presented by
Mrs. Eldon O'Brien, secretary,
and by Mrs. Tom Feeney, treas-
urer. Appointed to the visiting
committee for June were Mrs.
Tom Feeney, Miss Lucy Levy
and Mrs. Lloyd Medd, and to
the •somal, committee, Mrs. F.
C. Burns, Mrs. Vincent Reles
and Mrs. John Wamus.
Winners of a draw for can-
ned goods were Mrs. John. Wil-
son and Mrs. Grasser. At the
conclusion of the meeting, lun-
ch was served by the social
committee, Mr's. David Kay,
Mrs. H. A. Fraughton and Miss
Florence Evans.
The next meeting will be heitd
on July 10, with Seargent F.
C. Burns, RCAF Station Cl-
inton, and a member of St.
Joseph's Parish, showing col-
oured slides on the Congo. Sgt.
Burns just returned from sp-
ending six months as an. RCAF
telecommunications supervisor
with the I.fnited Nations Force
in the Congo. An invitation
has been extended to the bus-
bands of league members to
attend the July meeting.
London Road Club
Meets To -Day
The London Road Club met
at the home of Mrs. Cecil
Cooper in May, with eight
members present. Collection for
"Day to Remember" Was 80c.
Mrs. Monaghan conducted
two contests. Mrs. Harry Plum -
steel and Mrs. C. Magee won
the first one. Mrs. Murray Crich
and Miss Helen Anderson won
the second. A sale of plants
brought in $1.40.
The next meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. Bruce Cann
on Thursday, June 15, when
roll call will be answered by
giving a favourite recipe. Mrs.
Bruce Cana is in charge of the
program and a. pot luck lunch
will be served.
