Going Away?
Don't Tell The
Burglars You Are
Home ,burglaries represent e
large portion of the $1,500,000
thefit loss in Canada each year,
according to officials of the An
Canada Insurance Federation.
Thefts increase sharply during
the vacation months when own-
ers are away.
The Federation, which repre-
sents more than 200 Canadian
fire, casualty and automobile
insurance companies, offers
these reconvmendations to guard
against home burglary while on
vacation:
(1) Have milk and newspap-
er deliveries cancelled. Old
newspapers are a sure indica-
tion that the resident is away.
(2) Arrange to have your
lawn cared for regularly.
(3) Inform the local police
that you will be away. They
will check your home period-
ically.
(4) Have a friend or neigh -
bar visit the house occasionally
to see that ,all is in order.
(5) Remove valuable silver
or jewellery for storage in a
bank safety deposit box.
(6) Do not leave lights burn-
ing in the house.
(7) Ask the local newspaper
not to mention that you will be
away. Professional burglars,
read the social columns reg-
ularly.
(8) If a theft or break-in is
discovered, inform police im-
mediately. Even if nothing of
value has been taken, the in-
formation will be of value to
police.
BACKACHE
When kidneys fail
to remove excess
acids and wastes,
backache, tired
feoling, disturbed
rest often follow.
Dodd's Kidney
Pills stimulate
kidneys to normal
duty. You feel
better -sleep bet.
ter, work better.
