The series of tests are de-
signed to determine the con-
testant's knowledge of safety,
courtesy, efficiency and skill in
handling the type of vehicle
used in his class of competi-
tion.
To become eligible a driver
must be employed on duties re-
quiring him to operate service
vehicles during a twelve month
period prior to his entry in the
competition, The driver must
also have an accident free re-
cord for 12 months prior to
the competition whether oper-
ating RCAF or civilian vehicles..

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Milner',
RR 3, Auburn, and the groom
is the son of Mr. and' Mrs, Oliv-
er McGee, Kintore. Malcolm
Monteith Kintore, was the or-
ganist, played traditional wed-
ding music and accompanied
the soloist, Keith Barber, To-
ronto, who sang "Because" and
"The Lord's Prayer",
Given in marriage by her,
father, the bride wore a floor-
length gown of nylon organza
over silk taffeta, The fitted
bodice blended to a bateau
neckline appliqued with alen-
con lace with sequins. The
neckline formed a V in the
back ending with a bow and
flowing tie of matching organ-
za. The sleeves were lily
pointed. A headdress of tulle
and lace, trimmed with seed
pearls held her French illusion
veil. She carried a crescent
bouquet of white gladioli and
pinnochio roses,
Mrs. Carl Thomson, Strat-
ford, was her sister's matron
of honour. She wore a street-
length dress of shrimp silk or-
ganza with matching picture
hat and carried a crescent
bouquet of shrimp gladioli.
The 'bridesmaids, Miss Edith
Joiner and Mrs. Thomas Win-
drim, both of London, wore
identical dresses to 'that of the
matron of honour and the flow-
ers were also shrimp gladioli.
Robert McGee, Kintore, was
his brother's groomsman and
the ushers were Gary Treble
and Harvey Henderson.
A reception followed at the
Cobblestone Inn where the
bride's mother assisting the
bridal party received the
guests wearing a dress of navy
sheer with dusty rose acces-
sories and a corsage of dusty
rose rose-buds. She was assis-
ted by the groom's mother
wearing a purple sheath with
matching accessories and a yel-
low rose-bud corsage.
During the reception a tele-
gram of congratulations arriv-
ed from the bride's sister, Mrs.
Jack Gardner, Edmonton.
For a wedding trip to North-
ern. Ontario the bride donned
a cedar green sheath with mat-
ching jacket and hat with
beige accessories and a corsage
of yellow roses. On their re-
turn they will reside at Kin-
tore.

Mr. and Mrs. George Ing-
ram left August 24 by train for
a six weeks visit with the for-
mer's brother, Alva Ingram, at
Medford, Oregon, and at Spok-
ane, Wash., with relatives of
Mrs. Ingram.
Peewees Entertained
The Legion Peewee team en-
tertained Eden Mills Peewees
to dinner in the Legion Hall at
the conclusion of the OBA
baseball game at the local park
Thursday night. Eden Mills
were winners with a score of
12-6. The local branch and the
Ladies Auxiliary were in charge
of the dinner.

An enjoyable time was spent
at the home of Mr.. and Mrs.
Walter McBride, Varna, Sun-
day, when members of the fam-
ily of Mrs. Susan 'Cluiter,
Varna, and the late .Edwin
Chuter met for a family gath-
ering.. Forty-three attended.

40th Anniversary

Friday, August 26 was the
40th anniversary of the mar-
riage of the Rev. and Mrs. T.
J. Pitt of the pastoral charge
of Varna, They were married
in St. John's, Nfld., by the late
W. B. Bugden and Dr. Pedley,
Montreal.
The members of the Goshen
and Varna United Churches
gave Mr. and Mrs. Pitt a stir-
prise in the nature of a presen-
tation and "Open. House" at the
parsonage. Richard Robinson
of the Goshen Church and John
McAsh of the Varna Church
made the presentations which
consisted of a gift of money,
costume jewellery and cuff
links and pin, Bath Mr. and
Mrs. Pitt replied expressing
their deeply felt thanks to the
people amongst whom they had
been privileged to live and
work with for over nine years.
There were many callers dur-
ing the •afternoon and evening,
to whom tea was served by the
Goshen and Varna ladies. Those
pouring tea were Mrs.. Robert
McKinley, Sr., Mrs. John Mc-
Ash, Mrs. Clarence Parke,
Mrs. Ed. Foster in the after-
noon, and Mrs. Stelck, Mrs.
