former Emma Leah Regan. She
and her husband farmed in Hul-

death, nine years ago, Mrs. Rap-
soil moved to Clinton.

Mrs, England, the former Sarah
Ann, Young, passed away Friday,
May 13, in- South Huron Hospital,
Exeter, in her 88th year.
Surviving are her husband, two
son's, Lloyd, Crediten, and Mel,
St. • Thontas; two daughters, (Bea-
trice) Mrs, William Roesler, and
(Laura) Mrs. Lorne Finlebeiner,
Crediton. • Al'So surviving are one
sister and one brother, 13 grand-
children and 18, great-grandchild-
ren.

Dr, .James Bell, 91, passed away
in South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
Sunday, May 8; where he had been
a patient for over three weeks,'
Death attributed to bronchial
Onementa. Born on 'the Bell fem.
On Highway 4 .On the outskirts of
the village,. he was the son. of
James Bell and Marion Bell,
Dr.. Bell came of families that
since the 1830's have played prom
inept parts in the development of
the Hensall distriet, In 1901 'at
the age of $$ Dr. Bell entered the
Philadelphia Dental College, grad-
.trating with a degree of doctor of
dental surgery in the spring of
1904.
He established a highly success:-
ful dental practise at Harrisburg;
Pa. It was from here that he
began a series of tours. that took
him to the British Isles Eur-
ope on six different occasions, and
later, around the- world 'and to
South America and the West In-
dies. He married .Mrs. Bell, the
former Ruth Curtis, Oakland, Cal.,
in 1941, -whom, he met on one of
his round-the-world tours.
He retired to Hensall 21 years
ago. In April 1957 he gave $35,-
000 to the construction of a nurs-
es residence for South Huron Hos-
pital, Exeter, and a bronze plaque
was placed in the corridor.• of the
nurses residence to acknowledge
this major contribution'. -
SurVivors are his' widow, of
Hensall; one sister, -Mrs. Margaret
Doan, Morrin, . Alta.; James and
Hughews MeEwen, Hensall, are nep-

Funeral service was held from
the Bonthron funeral • chapel,
Tuesday afternoon, May 10, by
the Rev. Currie Winlaw. Inter-
ment was in Exeter Cemetery:
Mrs. Norman Miller
MM. Mabel Marshall Miller, wi-
dow of Norman W. Miller, died on
May 8 in Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, after an illness of about a
year. She was in her 61st year.
Born in Clinton, she was a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Marshall. She and her
husband moved to Goderich in
1944 when he became County
Clerk:
She was a member of North
Street United' Church; a charter
member and first president of the
Ladies' Auxiliary to Canadian Le-
gion Branch 109; a member of
Goderich Rebekah lodge; a mem-
ber of the Women's Institute; and
a member of the Loyal Orange
Benevolent Association for • the
past 25 years.
Surviving are two sons, Ken-
neth, Goderich; Frank, Waterloo;
two daughters, Mrs. Vernon (Hel-
en) Wagner, Waterloo; Mrs. Ro-
bert (Pearl) Needham, Goderich;
two: brothers, Gordon Marshall,
London (recently of Clinton);
Chester Marshall, Owen Sound;
and seven grandchildren.
