Mrs. Ed. Davies. She stated that

Mrs. Andrew Kirkconnell and Mrs.
John Daer.
The convener of historical re:
search, Mrs. Cordon 11. Taylor,
gave a report of the Tweedsmuir
Book committee, giving the high:.
lights of the snciety far the year's
activities'. Mrs. R. J. Phillips read
the 4-H Club report and the lead-
ers since 1935 and the various
clubs that the Auburn Institute
had sponsored. Mrs. W. Bradnock
gave a summary 'of the churches
and sehools and Mrs. Taylor con-
cluded by telling about the stores
and the •hotel which was pulled
down -to make room for a parking
lot for county trucks this past
summer. This summary, prepar-
ed by the committee, Mrs. G. Tay-
lor, Mrs. W, "Straughan, Mrs. C.
Straughan, Mrs. R. Phillips, Mrs.
F. Plaetaer, Mrs. W. Bradnock and
Mrs. E. Lawson will be placed in
the Tweedsmuir Bobk which is a
history of the district.
A Valentine reading was given
by Mrs. Frank Raithby. The col-
lection was taken and a • parcel
post was held with Mrs. Ed, Dav-
ies in charge. A letter was sent
to the hall committee requesting
that some action be taken soon
in regards to the erection of the
proposed new community memorial
hall. Lunch was served by Mrs.
Sam Daer and Mrs. F. Raithby.

A deposit of $100.00 is required
for each set of plans, specifications
and documents. This deposit is for-
feited if plans ;specifications and
documents are not received in this
office,' intact and in good condition,
on or before the tenth day follow-
ing contract award.
Each tender must be accompan-
ied by a Security Deposit consist-
ing of $500.00 per housing unit,
plus 5% of the Landscaping cost.
Such Security Deposit shall be re-
tained by Central 'Mortgage and
Housing Corporation to ensure due

The YPS of Knox Presbyterian
Church met in the Sabbath'school
room of the church with Rev. D.
J. Lane presiding. St. Luke 15:
10-32 was read responsively. Roll
call was answered by naming their
favourite hymn and why, and all
sang one verse of the hymn. The
offering was received by Murray
Youngblut. The minutes were read
by the secretary Helen Youngblut.
'A visitation teani from the Pres-
bytery Young People's .Society rep-
resentatives will be had at the
next meeting on March 1. A Bible
Quiz followed by a discussion per-
iod on the answers was held.
Women's Institute
Auburn Women's Institute met
in the Orange Hall. The president,
Mrs. Thomas Haggitt was in
charge. Mrs. Robert J. Phillips
was at the piano. The minutes
were read by secretary Mrs. Bert
Craig.
Mrs. Clifford Brown, convener
of the card committee, gave a
very encouraging report. Mrs. Ro-
bert Phillips reported on her work
on the Tweedernitir competition.
Mrs. Thomas Haggitt was appoint-
ed to attend, the Cancer Society
meeting at Blyth as the Institute's
representative. Mrs. Thomas Law-
lor was named -as delegate to the
Guelph Conference for nubile re-
lations conveners in May.
The nominating committee were
asked to bring in, a slate of offic-
ers for 1960 at the March meet-
ing. Mrs. Harry Watson, conven-
er of the Sunshine Sister banquet
in April, discussed the place to
hold this event. It was decided to
have the Presbyterian ladies cater
this year. Anyone wishing a tic-
