M. Waters, of India, missionaries of the United Church, who are home on furlough, called on Miss Nellie Medd on Monday. Mrs. Waters and Miss Medd were old school churns. Mr, J. M. Harvey, of Toronto, spent the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Harvey. The latter has been making splendid pro­ gress and was able to be out a little last week. Mr. Rd. Davis recently had the misfortune to fracture a rib and he is off work for a few days in con­ sequence. He was working with a scoop when the handles flew up one of them striking him in the dbs. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. I-Ieideman and daughter Betty and Miss Mason and boy friend, all of Toronto; and Mt-, and Mrs. Jules Sill and son Roy, of Kitchener, visited over the lioliday with Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Y. motored over and spent the week­ end with Dr. E. S. and Mrs. Steiner. Miss Lucy Wallace is remaining with her sister on a visit. His Grace, the Archbishop of Hu­ ron, was greeted by a large audience on Sunday night at Trivitt Memorial church on his annual visit for con­ firmation. A class of seven-adults was presented by the Rector. His Grace preached a strong and inspir­ ing serriion from the text, Deut. VIII 18 “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God.” Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Hardy, of List- owel, accompanied by their son Jas. and his wife, of Molesworth and an­ other son John, a cheesemaker, in Ethel, motored over and spent Sun­ day with Mr. and Mrs. R. Torry. Mr. Hardy, Sr. was one of W, H. John­ ston’s pupils in S. S. No, 2, Elma 49 years ago. These two had a pleas­ ant reunion while Mr. Hardy was here. Mr. and Mrs. Syford, of Lapsing, accompanied, by Mrs. L'eon Cook, visited Mr. Fred Sotheran and. his sister Miss Sotheran last week and when they returned they took back with- them Mrs. Syfo-rd’s son, Ray Herig, who has beeii living with Mr, and Miss Sotheran the last two yearo and attending school here.
