Higgins was in Tor­ onto on Monday introducing a deleg­ ation from Grand Bend to the Depu- ty-Ministeri of Crown Lands- The Crown Lands department is having a? survey made of the beach, sit Grand Bend and looking up the original deeds of sale. so as to establish the ownership of the beach. There is quite'a controversy raging at Grand Bend as to who- owns the beach, Chas. Gibbs, of Parkhill, or the On­ tario government. Among others contesting Mr. Gibbs’ ownership is John Mousseau, of Hensall, who placed His “Merry Mix-up”-on the beach on the -property claimed by >Mr.' Gibbs. -Things' began to get in­ teresting immediately, Mr. ' Gibbs taking action to eject Mr< Mousseau. They broke up his machine and tried to throw it off the property. On Tuesday1 evening the Crediton nixie were defeated by a somewhat revised Hensall team on the latter’s diamond by the score of 4-2, The game which went 8 innings, produc­ ed some pf the best ball that has been seen here this season and it was a nip and tuck struggle till the finish, ’ Crediton secured two runs in the second and Hensall evened the sepre in the third and got the winning two runs in the fifth. The Hensall team presented a changed line-up which performed well behind the pitching of Wilson Brintnell. Bill. Motz, the Crediton stand-by, did. mound duty for the visitors and turned in a creditable game- This win puts- Hensall on top of the lea­ gue, with four games still to be played, one with each team in the league. St. Joseph’s .Hos­ pital, London, following an opera­ tion for internal trouble. . Mr. Hut­ chinson was in the' field Thursday and Friday went to London to pro­ pare for the operation which took place early • Saturday morning and he passed away the same evening. The deceased was a young man held in the very highest, esteem in the community- He is survived by his bereaved widow whose maiden name was Lottie Mellin, also‘Arthur, aged 11 years and Nola, aged 5. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. David Hutchinson, one brother, Ern­ est, and a half-brother, Nelson St. Clair; also two sisters, Mrs. Wm.. Mason and Mrs. Hy. Eggleson, of Dashwood.
