Christmas Concert
A very anPreciative audience
gathered Monday night in Ontario.
Street United Church Sunday
School auditorium to witness
what was described as one of the
best Christmas concerts for sev-
eral years. Each number on the
program showed t h e careful
training given by. the 20 leaders
and teachers of the school.
Opening with a musical inter-
lude by the orchestra under the
direction of Nelson McClinchey
and closing with the arrival of
Santa Claus to the joyous, music
of Jingle Bells, the program was
filled with a great variety of skits
and songs depicting the brightness
and gaiety 'of Christmas. the gree-
diness of Scrooge, the love of peo-
ple filled with Christmas spirit
and the power, of Jesus to change
the lives of men.
There was never a dull mom-
ent with the scene changing quick-
ly from the sublime to the ridicu-
louS, from music to dialogue' and
from' comedy to drama.
As usual the program was well
in hand under the capable chair-
manship of Robert Elliott, super-
intendent of the school who kept
things moving. Lighting was han-
dled by William Gibbings, Brock
Olde, Jim Mair and .Rey. Grant
Mills. •
A very important event of the
evening was the announcement
that Mrs. Charles Elliott's class
of 15 "teen age girls had given
up their exchange of gifts to raise
a fund of 815 to be sent to CARE.

pupils of the school and all de-
partments from the nursery class-
