64th Anniversary
The home of Mr, and Mrs. Ez-
ekiel Phillips was set for the 64th
wedding anniversary last Friday
when Mr. Phillips accidently fell
dOwnstairs while his wife Was re-
ceiving congratulations on the ph-
one. The doctor was summoned
and Mr, Phillips was taken Mon-
day by ambulance to Clinton Pub-
lic Hospital, where 'it was 'found
he is suffering from a fractured.

led in prayer and the responsive

ing a book in the 'Old Testament.
It was decided to invite the Pres-
bytery executive in the near fut-
ure. Plans were made for the ska-
ting party when all YPS m the
village will be guests. Scripture
was read by Gordon Deer. The
study of the' Shorter Cathecistris
was continued and the offering
was received by the treasurer, Gor-
don Daer. The topic on the history
of the Presbyterian Church in Ca-
nada was continued by Rev. D. 3.

With Birthday
Mrs, Ezekial Phillips celebrated
her 87th birthday at her home re-
ceiving many cards, messages of
congratulations and gifts. She was
formerly Margaret Ellen Medd,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Medd/of West Wawanosh,
and attended school at SS No, 3
Colborne, Sixty-four years ago she
was married to Ezekial Phillips
at the Anglican rectory at Luck-
now by the Rev, Charles Miles.
Following their wedding .the coup-
le resided for ten years at White-
church where Mr. Phillips was en-
gaged as a blacksmith.
Then they moved to Auburn.

Horticultural Society
The Auburn Horticultural Soc-
iety met in the Orange Hall for
the first meeting of the year with
the president, Mri. Bert Craig in
charge and Mrs. Robert J. Phillips
at the piano. The minutes were
read by Mrs. Elma Mutch.
The committee in charge of put-
ting lights at the Manchester Gar-
den reported that contact had been
made with the village trustees.
Letters were read from the Hol-
land Bulb Co., Clifford Epps and
John Clark concerning new bus-
iness,
Accordion solos were played by
William Gibson. A reading "Hum-
our is a Good Tonic", was read
by Mrs, Ed. Davies. A solo was
sung by Mrs. George Wilkin
William Gibson showed coloured
pictures of his trip to California,
the Rose Bowl Parade, and a tour
of Disney Land which he took
at the Christmas holiday season.
Mrs. Wes Bradnock gave an ac-
count of a recent trip to New
Orleans, Mexico 'City, Los Angeles,
San Francisco and the Grand Can-
yon.
Lunch was served by Mrs. Ed.
Davies, Mrs. Charles Straughan
and Mrs. Frank Raithby.
