It is most important that hunt- ers retain their 1958-59 gun lic- ence until next fall because they Must complete the renewal form to obtain their 1959-60 licence, the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests states. Any person just coming of age (16) or not having in his or her possession the application for re- newal of the 1959-60 gun licence next year, will be required to pass a special gun handling safety course. This regulation has been passed in the cause of gun safety. Re- quested by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the De- partment of Lands and Forests has given the scheme its full sup- port. The special courses in safe gun handling will be given by in- structors, who come mostly from the various fish and game clubs of the province. It is expected that most of the applicants for the courses this year will be in the 15-year-old class, preparing themselves for proper training and eligibility for a gun licence next fall. Participants who successfully complete the course will be given a certificate of corn- pentence. Emphasis will be plac- ed on teaching the younger gen- eration the basic principles of gun safety. ctuerroN. 11.W.$4.3,'ACORD Inside Exhibit Prize Winners At Bayfield Annual Fall fair For Millions of Canadians.. the best way to save !
