MR. AND MRS. CHARLES GORDON SHOBBROOK, Lon-
desboro, were married on Saturday, September 22, in Blyth
United Church, by the Rev. R. Evan McLagen. The bride is
Darlene Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Pierce, Blyth
and the groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Shobbrook, Londesboro. Following a wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the young couple are living in Blyth.

Mrs. Lloyd Mcalinohey, sister
of the bride, was: matron of hon-
our, wearing a waltz-length frock
of green chr,oniespuil, taffeta with
scooped neckline, cap sleeves. and
a. bow at back. She carried a bou-
quet of white roses.
Miss -Elva Gross, RR 1, Auburn,
sister of the groom Was heides,
maid wearing a corktall-leingth
frock off burnt orange crystallette,
featuring a "V" melding, dropped
pleated waistline, pointed in front,
and a bouffant skirt with bow at
the back. She' carried a bouquet
of white roses.
There were two Tim-bearers,
Larry Jewitt, cousin of the bride,
son of Mr. and Mrs. William Jew-
itt, RR 1, Clinton and Paul GroSse
nephew of the bridegroom, son
of Mr, and Mrs. Harold Gross,
Auburn.. They wore navy jackets
and prey trousers and each car-
ried a heart-shaped satin pillow
trimmed with lace and pearls.
(Clayton Gross, Auburn, was his
brother's [groomsman.
The wedding music was played
by Miss' Margaret Jackson, Au-
burn, rwho allso accompanied the
sollolst, Mrs. Wills Van Egnitould,
RJR 1, Clinton.
A reception and dinner were
held in Knox United Church par-
lours, ,Auburn for 40 guests. The
bride's mother received in Jama-
ica brown, orange ice accessories
and a corsage of orange roses.
The groom's mother assisted in
blue, with pink accesslories and
corsage of yellow roses.
Waitresses were Mrs. Neilson
McClure, Sealforth and Mrs. Rus-
sell Good, Londesboro, cousins of
the bride; Mrs. Murray Lyon,
Blyth; Miss (Ruth Deer, Myth and
Mrs. Del Delare, Paris, girl friends
of the bi,kle.
For a wedding trip to Niagara
Palls and the United States, the
bride !donned a red velvet dress.,
with blade and white accessories
and a corsage of white carnations.
Upon their return they • will re-
side on the 'groom's farm RR. .1,

decorated the home of the bride's
parents, when Olive Edna Aiken-
head exchanged marriage vows
with Glenn Allan Stewart l3roaid-
foot on September 20 at 12 noon.
The bride is the youngest daught-
er of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Aiken.

is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn Broadfoot, Clinton. The
Rev. Sidney Davison officiated at
the ceremony.
Traditional wedding music was
played by Mrs. W. McBeth pian-
ist and Mrs., Mac Wilson, violin-
eat. They played, "1 Love You
Truly" before the ceremony and
"Because" and "I'll Walk Beside
You" ;during the signing of the
register.
Given in, marriage by her fath-
er, [the -bride was lovely in a
waltz-leingth gown of Chantilly
lace and net over taffeta. Scal-
lops of Chantilly Age formed an
off the shoulder neckline on the
short-Sleeved bothee. The tiered
skirt of nylon net was held out
with a hoop. A nylon net and lace
headdress trimmed with white
Tbses held her fingertip veil. She
wore short .Chantilly lace gloves'
and carried a white' Bible crest-
ed with red roses and white satin
streamers.
Attending the bride was Miss
June McOlinchey, Varna, who wore
a blue crystalette gown, She car-
ried a nosegay of pink roses and
Tern. [Fired L'olbb, Brumfield was
groomsman.
iFollOwing the ceremony a re-
ception was held in the church
parlor. The bride's mlother receiv-
ed, wearing mink coin-tired crepe
weth. turquoise !accessories and a
corsage of white carnations. The
bridegroom's mother wore navy
crepe with white accessories, and
a corsage Of white carnations..
eilhe bride's table was lovely
with a three tiered wedding cake,
pink and white tapers and gladiol-
us. Assisting with the dinner were
Miss Jean Ha-Unwell, Miss Joan
Triebner and Miss Betty Harrison.
For a honeymoon in Northern
Ontario and Michigan the bride
travelled in a blue suit with blue
-hat and navy accessories. Upon
their return, they Will live on the
second concession of Stanley

Varna and Bruiedfield.
Prior to the wedding, On Wed-
nesday evening, Septernber 17, a
trousseau tea was held. by Mrs.
John Aikenhead in honour of heir

ceineld the' guests at !the door.
Miss Jessie Lane, Bruceilield, aunt
