The Ontario Street Won-ian'S
Missionary Society met on Tues-
day in the ladies' parlours, with
president Mrs. W. S. R. Holmes,

sisted by Mrs. Toweshend. Roll
call was answered by paying for
the. Missionary Monthly,
Mrs. N. Carter ,contributed a
solo; Mrs. James Livermore a
paper on Temperance and Mrs. M.
Wiltse a talk on Christian living
and Christian giving.
The new study was introduced
by Miss Elva Wiltse and Mrs,
Grant Mills. Mrs. A, J. McMurray
presented the proposed slate of of-
ficers for 1958.

of Mr, Ed, Walters, who has spent
the last two weeks with her grand-
mother, Mrs. lielee Dalrymple, has
returned to her home at Prince
Albert, Saskatchewan.

bodice. A white picture hat and
accessories completed her ensem-
ble, and she carried a bouquet of

Legion took place Monday even-

present the Auxiliary -at the Hos-

esting pictures, which were enjoy-

Knox Presbyterian Church Hes-
peIer, decorated with large white
chrysanthemums, was the scene of
a pretty wedding on Saturday af-
ternoon, November 9, 1957, at four
o'clock,
The pastor the Reverend Mr.
Mulholland officiated- at the cer-
emony when Miss Elsie Lillian
Leitch, liespeler, second daughter
of Mr, and Mrs. Albert Leitch,
Ingersoll (formerly of Goderich
and Bayfield) became the bride' of
Robert James Dopfer, son of Mrs.
Dopfer and the late James Dop-
fer, Hespeler,
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, chose an attractive
princess style short-length gown in
pale pink brocaled satin. The
bodice had a V-neckline and long
close-fitting sleeves. She wore a
veiled cap, and. carried a bouquet
of deep red roses.
Miss Viola Leitch, Toronto, was
her sister's bridesmaid. She ware
a princess-style dress of dark
red taffeta, with matching ribbon
headdress and carried pale pink
roses.
The groomsman was William
Morris, Ilespeler, and Albert Leit-
ch ( a brother of the bride) God-
erich and John Courtney, Hespel-
er, ushered.
The church organist played
traditional wedding music.
The reception which followed
was at the home of Mrs, William
Morris, sister, of the groom. White
'mums and lighted tapers graced
the rooms.
Mrs, Albert Leitch, the bride's
mother, wore a bright blue bro-
caded dress and deep rose coloured'
hat. Her corsage was of pink
carnations.
Mrs. James Stopfer Was attired
in a teal 'blue crepe, a light rose
hat, and a corsage of pink carna-
tions.
Buffet refreshments were served
to 40 guests.
For as honoree= trip to the
Southern United States, the bride
wore a grey flecked worsted suit
with turquoise accessories, and a
white gardenia corsage.
On their return they will reside
in Hespeler.

Word was received here on
Monday by D. A. Atkinson, of the,
death of his uncle, George L. Ches-
ney, Calgary, Alta.
Formerly of Seaforth, the de-
ceased man had been in ill health
for some time, He was 79 years
of age and passed away at 10.30
p.m. November 10, 1957. He was
well-known here, having spent
summers in Bayfield in his- young-
er days. He last visited his nep-
hew here four years ago.
Besides his widow, the former
Edna Pickard, Seaforth, he is sur-
vived by two sons, Douglas and
Arthur and ,a daughter, Winnifred
(Mrs. George Kerr, Edmonton)
and nine grandchildren. e.

Jehovah's Witnesses of the Clin-
ton area are completing arrange-
ments to attend their three-day
semi-annual circuit assembly in
the Peston High School Auditor-
ium on November 15-17, 11. Mc-
Nally, presiding minister of the
Clinton congregation has announ-
ced,
The circuit comprises the eight
congregations• of Kitchener, Wat-
erloo, Galt, Elmira, Stratford; Mit-
chell, Goderich and Clinton;
The assembly program will fea-
ture Bible lectures, instruction
and demonstrations. Among mem-
bers of the Clinton congregation
participating in the program, the
theme of which will' be "Be ,Qual-
ified to Teach," is H, Lohse. G. H. Saltmarsh, a, special re-
presentative of the Watchtower
Bible and Tract Society of Toro
to, will be the featured speaker
of the event, speaking on the sub-
ject, "What Are the Prospects for
Lasting Peace."
