The monthly meeting of the
Clinton Hospital Auxiliary will be
held November 4 at 2,30 p.m. in
the 'Nurses' Residence,

George Beattie and a suitable
reply was made by Mrs. Stewart-
Farquhar. The meeting closed
with 'a hymn and benediction.
During the supper and the
meeting - the Young Peoples! Soc-
iety of the charge took care of
approximately 15 small children
who came with their parents,

Over 100 •visitors called on the newly opened John Sangster
store last Saturday, to see the new premises, and to take a
chance on the free door prize.- Winner of this was Fred Hudte,
who went home with a handsome electric coffee percolator.

In spite of the bad weather and
the 'Ifita, approximately 200 mem-
bers of the Wesley-Willis United
Church congregation met in the
recreation hall of the church on
Thursday, October 24 to enjoy a
loyalty dinner and review the
progress. of the Sector Plan which
had been initiated at the annual
congregational meeting in January
1957.
After the dinner which was cap-
ably served by the ladies of the
lmesville church, the minister)
Rev, J. A. McKim presided in the
'absence of the general chairman,
Rcbert N. Irwin. Following the
worship the recording steward,
William ne.arn read the minutes
from official record which auth-
orized the project, Ed. Jenkins
presented a visual breakdown of the 1.95$ contributions, A film
Strip was shown which. illustrated
what churches can accomplish.

report of the advances desired
by the .congregation. as indicated
by the questionaires filled out by
members of the organizations.

The annual meeting of the Bap-
tist congregation was held Friday
evening and usual pot luck sup-
per was enjoyed. The business
meeting was conducted by the
pastor John Agulian, Clinton. All
the reports given were very grat-
ifying and the members were all
thankful for the blessings given
them through the past year.
Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Taylor
spent the weekend with their
daughter Mrs. Ron Rathwell and
Mr, Rathwell, Dresden.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Weir, Joan
and Bobby, London, were week-
end guests with Dr. B. C. Wear
and Mr. and Mrs. D. A. McKay.
Mr. Fred Ross and cousin Mrs.
R. D. Smith visited Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Duff, Windsor, and Mr.
and Mrs. Ray Duff, Leamington
for a few days.
W.A. Meeting
The regular monthly meeting
Mr. and Mrs. Borden Brown
were in Durham on Monday at-
tending the funeral of the latter's
aunt, the late Mrs. Livingston,
Burlington. Burial took, place in
Durham Cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Riley, Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Riley and Doug-
las visited Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wo-
ods and Debbie in Ajax on Sunday.
The sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended to Mrs. W. L.
Johnston' and family, Clinton, in
the loss of a husband and father
Mrs. Johnston was the former
Etelka Leitch of Constance. Both
of the Woman's Association of
Knox United Church was held
Tuesday evening with 29 members
and five visitors present. The
meeting was in, the form of a
Hallowe'en party with all kinds
of spooks and witches. The pro-
gram got under way with a gues-
sing contest to find out who was
who. This was followed by group
contests with prizes going to Miss
Sadie Carter and'Mrs. R. Koop-,
mans.
Mns. Fred Toll led the devotion-
al period and Mrs. Norman Wight-
man was at the piano. The Scrip-
ture, ,St. John's Gospel 17th chap-
ter (Revised Edition), was read
by Mrs. R. S. Hiltz and Mrs.
Earl Wightman led in devotion
and" prayer. The offering was
received by Mrs. Charles Millian
and Mrs. Stuart Ament.
Mrs. Fred Toll gave a reading
"Ghost Time". Mrs. Maurice Bean
presided for the business. period.
Lunch was served by the Loyal
Hearts and a Social hour was
enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnston were well
known in this community.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Grimoldby, and
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Riley attended
the Hunan ,County Banquet held
in Blyth Tuesday night.
The W.M.S. held their thank
offering meeting in the Sunday
School rooms on Wednesday Oct-
ober 23. Burns and Londesboro
societies were their guests. The
meeting .opened with Mrs. Ross•
McGregor, president, presiding.
A hymn was sung followed 'by
prayer by Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Wil-
bur Jewitt read the Scripture
lesson. Mrs. Tom Allen, Londes-
bore gave an accordian number
and Mrs. George Smith, Burns,
gave a reading. Mrs. George Mc-
Ilwain, Constance, read a poem.
. The offering was taken by Mrs.
Earl Lawson and Mrs. Frank
Riley, The guest speaker, Mrs.
Bruce Hall, Seaforth, was intro-
duced by Mrs. Kenneth Hadley,
Mrs. Hall gave an wonderful in-
spiring message and all the ladies
enjoyed her address. Mrs. Ross
McGregor thanked Mrs. Hall and
Mrs. T. J. White closed the meet-
ing with prayer. A social half
hour was spent after the meeting.
