Ontario Street United Church will
be in the church parlour on Sep-

have just returned froth a visit
to relatives in Oak Park, Illinios
where they attended the wedding
of a niece, and from Kankakee,
Mich., where they held a family
reunion.
Mr, and Mrs, Maurice Radford,
Elmira, N. Y., spent the holiday
weekend at the former's parental
home on Princess St. and at the
home of his brother and sister-in-
law, Mr. and. Mrs. Frank Radford.
Mrs, Beryl Hobbs, Monkton, was
also a weekend visitor at the same
home.

MoLay, Arnprior, formerly of Clin-
ton, will be interested to hear
that Mrs. lAcLay's. parents, Mr.
and Mrs. B. F. Lancaster, Robin-
son Street, St. Marys, recently
celebrated their 50th wedding an-
niversary, Mr. and Mrs, Lancaster
used to be frequent visitors to
Clinton.

Miss. Adelaide Vincensi, a school
teacher from Santancangelo di
Romagna (Forti), in Italy, has
been a visitor this week with Mr.
and Mrs. C, Van Darnme at the
Commercial Hotel. Miss Vincensi,
who was visiting relatives at New
York this summer found time to
fit Clinton in her travel schedule.
She and the Van Damrnes have
mutual friends in Italy. Miss Vim-
censi loft Wednesday to sail from
Montreal, for her home, and fall
school session. Before leaving she
enjoyed a tour of Clinton's modern
13-roam public school, personally
conducted by Principal Bert Gray,
and also visited the newly reno-
vated Clinton Public Hospital.

MISS MARGARET HOWARD,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
E. Howard, Bayfield, was award-
ed a $500 Dominion-Provincial
bursary, and will use it to at-
tend Univer,sity of Western On-
tario, London. She also was
awarded a $200 scholarship from
the University. Miss Howard is
a graduate of Clinton District

Begins Season
The Woman's Association of On-
tario Street United Church met on
Tuesday, September 3, with a
good attendance after the summer
holiday. Mrs, A. J. McMurray,
vice-president, opened the meeting
in the absence of president Mrs.
After the singing of a hymn the
devotions were taken by Mrs. Mil-
ton Wiltse, based on the subject,
"Christian Responsibilities", and
she closed with prayer.
Different reports were given.
Miss Lewis and Mrs. M. Nediger
each sang two solos which were
much enjoyed.
