This method of naming is the first of its kind in Canada. Self Seive The Newcombe store is using the new Idea, of self serve, as it has been developing across the country, Of •course the drugs themselves, and some other parts of the stock will be hand- led in the customary way, but magazines, greeting cards, stock Medicines, salves, candies, lip- sticks, pail-polish, et.C., will be available directly to the custom- ers. They will be expected to take the item they prefer to the counter to have it wrapped. This method of service is found to speed up the process of buying, and also allows for smaller staff in the store. Heating The store is surprisingly clean and bright now, and it will be kept that way quite easily, said Mr. Newcombe, because the air is continually filtered. Heating is accomplished by forced air, travelling under the floor. Spacious storage space at the .rear of the store will accom- modate extra stocks of large or- ders.
