Funeral services for Edward
Arthur McMillan, lot four, conqes-
sion nine, Morris Township, ,were
conducted by Rev. D. J. Lane, on
Saturday, November 10 at 2 p.m.
in the 4,Tasker• Memorial Chapel,
Blyth. Interment was made in
Blyth Union Cemetery.
The late Mr. McMillan was born
June 3, 1882, on the farms, on which
he lived and was a Well known
and reSpeetecl Citizen, always
ready to lend a helping hand. '
Surviving besides his widow, is
one brother, William, London; also
three nieces and two nephews.

off Mrs. Emerson Smith, 61, who

at her home, concession two,

day night, November 11, was the
former Edna T. Desjardine. ,
She was a member of Carmel
Presbyterian Church, Hensall.
Surviving besides her husband,
are three sons, John, Kippen;
Grant, Hensall; Gerald, Kitchener;
five daughters, Mrs. Frank Me-
'Cowan, Brucefield; Mrs. John Nor-
ris, Fullaelon Township; Mrs. Ar-
thur Varley,. Seaforth; Mrs. Geo-
rge Varley, Kippen; Mrs. William
Cleary; _Toronto; one brother, Her-
bert Desjaidine, and one sister,
Mrs.'Thomas Meyers, both of ,Zur-.
ich.
Service from the Bonthron fun-
eral home, Hensall, on Tuesday
afternoon by the Rev. Donald Mac-
Donald. Interment was in Eketer
Cemetery.
Mrs. W. H. Wood
Mrs. William H. Wood, 79, who
died Tuesday in South Huron Hos-
pital, Exeter, was the former Mar-
garet F. Blatchforcl, Hensall.
After their marriage in 1901,
she and her husband lived at
Hurondale until retiring to Exeter
in 1945. She was an active mem-
ber of James Street United Chur-
ch.
Surviving besides her husband,
are one son, 3. Harold Wood,
Lambeth; two daughters, Olive,
Toronto; Mrs. William Murdock,
Dundas; a grandson, William F.
Wood, RCAF Station Clinton; two
brothers, Dr. Frank Blatehford,
Fort William; Roy, Exeter, and
two sisters, Mrs. W. S. Cole, Ex-
eter; and Mrs. Roy Linkiater, God-
erich.
Service from the Happer-Hockey
funeral home Thursday „afternoon,
November, 15, by the Rev. II, J.
Snell and the Rev. C. W. Down.
Interment will be made in Exeter
Cemetery.

which Dr, Paul Yates, returned
medical missionary from Africa
and former resident of Clinton
will be guest speaker. He will
show; pictures of his mission. Tur-
ner's, Varna, Brucefield and Kin-
burn Young, People's Union .will be
invited.
The president annouweed that

each member will bring a Christ-
mas gift for an. Indian School in
Alberta, She stressed the need
for clothing in particular.

George McAdam
Honoured By
Fellow Veterans
George McAdam, resident of the
Haron County Home, received a
signal honour on Sunday afternoon,
when the Seaforth Branch No. 156,
Canadian Legion presented him
with a life membership in the.
Legion.
In attendance for the presentat-
ion, were George Eaton, who serv-
ed in the First World'War in the
same battalion as Mr. McAdam;
Ed. Miller, George Hays, James T.
Scott and Alex Muir. John Hol-
Jand, president of the -Legion made
the presentation. •
Mr. McAdam is a former resident
of Seaforth and has been a mem-
ber of the branch 'there for many

Driver Escapes
Injury In Car
Truck Accident
Arthur Villierk Lambeth, walk-
ed uninjured, from his car after -it
collided with a truck and rolled
over three times on Highway 4,
south of Londesboro on. Tuesday.
Damage to the car was estima-
ted at close to $1,000. The vehicle
came to rest' back on all four
wheels. Every window was shat-
tered.
Driver of the, truck was Edwin
Radford, )Blyth.
