Seaforth Lions Park, commencing
at noon, the event will be held in
the Seaforth Community Centre.

the Minister of Agriculture.

Taking Post At
Health Unit
Miss Jean Falconer, daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. W. J.Falconer, Bruce-
field, will assume the duties of
supervisor of nursing in connect-
ion with the Huron County Heal-
th Unit, with headquarters in
Goderich. Mee Falconer was, for-
merly with the school health ser-
vice in the county before the heal-
th unit was formed here, and went
in 1948 to be supervisor of nurs-
ing at Prince Edward County,
Picton, where she has been since.
At mid-August Miss KN....eh
Cunningham, present supervisor of
nursing with the Huron Health
Unit, will leave the county. She
intends entering post graduate
work.

On closing day of the two week
vacation bible school held in On-
tario Street United Church, par-
ents, friends and students filled
the, assembly hall, to view the
work' done by •the students. A
concert by the youngsters Was en-
joyed, and the WA served lunch.
The school was 'the ;best yet,"
with 171 pupils enrolled. 'They
were taught handcrafts, Scripture,
hymns, games, etc.

'assisted by Miss S. CoUrtice. Miss
Jane Batkin was pianist, and ;Mss
Marilyn Potter was secretary-
treasurer.

Ten girls having completed 12
projects were presented with prov.,.
incial honour certificates, pips and
silver teaspoons, 'Eighteen mem-
bers„, having completed six pro-
jects, were recipients of county
honours certificates, pins and en-.
ver teaspoons.
During the morning, each mem-
ber exhibited a record book and
plate of four tea biscuits. Classes
of tee buecuits and menus for a
farm family were judged with rea-
sons given on the menus. Menu
planning was the morning activity.
During the afternoon, exhibits
were placed, comments given, de-
monstrations and skits were pre-
sented.
All those girls who completed
two (or. multiples of two) projects
received certificates an d tea-
spoons. They included Ann Trott,
Beverly Beattie, Mary Macaulay
and Ruth Ann Batkin of the Clin-
ton Club; Kathryn Anderson, Ruth
Ann Jarrott, Evelyn Hodge, Slier-

Has June Meeting
The June Meeting 'of the Lon-
don Road Club was held at -the
home of Mrs. H, 1Vlanaghan with
15 members present.
Mrs, Watkins, president, was
in charge and opened the meet..
ing by singing ",Abide With Me",
followed by repeating of the
Creed. Roll call was answered
by each member saying where
she would like to go on a free
trip.
Thank-you's were received
from Mrs, Harland and Mrs,
Guetter for cards sent. Mrs.
Harry Plumsteel had charge of
the mystery box which was won
by Mrs. 'Cann. Mrs. Collins had
charge of program consisting of
contests won by Mrs. H. Plum-
steel, Helen. Anderson, Mrs. Mon-
aghan and Mrs. Bennett.
Mrs. Doucette was present' and
thanked the club on behalf of
her husband and herself, for the
present given them on their 50th
wedding anniversary. The meet-
ing was closed by singing the
National Anthem.
