Armstrong. Correspondence and

The treasurer's report disclosed
that over half of the allocation had
been sent in to headquarters, Miss
M. Ellis showed interesting slides
on her trip to the Canadian oast
last summer, Mrs. Coates direct-
ed contests.
A picnic supper was to have
been held on the church lawns
but owing to the inclemency of
the weather, was held inside,
Lunch committee was Mrs, H, Mc-
Murtrie, Mrs. Norman Jones, Mrs.
M. Traquair, field, the guests of Mr, and Mrs
Gordon W. Cuninghame, while vis-
iting their daughter-in-law Mrs,

Missionary Society was neld in
Chapel on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs.
Holmes the president presided.
Mrs, A, J. McMurray had char-
ge of the devotions which were
based on "Prayer."
The highlight of the meeting
was a sketch very ably taken by
Mrs. A. G. Eagle, Mrs, J. W, Van
Egmond, Mrs. Ed. Dale and Miss
E. Wiltse, dealing with church
workers who deal with the Immi-
grants who come to this country.
Miss Joan Johnston favoured
with two cornet solos and Mrs.
D, Carter gave a reading entitled
"Million Dollar Smile,"
Mrs. VanEgmond offered her
home for the August meeting
which will be a, tea and the pro-
gram will be "Sing, Recite or
Pay-up."
Mrs. Holmes closed the meeting
with prayer. Mrs. VanEgmond
served a delicious lunch,

formed the ceremony,
The bride wore a ballerina leng-
th gown of white net over satin
with a matching net jacket and
peterpan collar with long sleeves.
Her white lace tiara was' decorated
with white lily-of-the-valley and
she wore a White net veil. Her
pearl necklet was the gift of the
groom, and she carried red roses.
Marilyn Orr, RR 2, Goderich,
was bridesmaid in blue net and
lace over taffeta in ballerina len-
th with matching bolero, and she
carried a corsage of pink carna-
tions.
Jack Proctor, RR 2, Goderich,
was groomsman.
For the reception in the home
of the bride's parents, Mrs. Proct-
or received in a dress of tan but-
cher linen., with navy accessories
and corsage of pink carnations.
Assisting was the groom's moth-
er in lane butcher linen, with cor-
sage of yellow carnations and
white accessories. Guests' attend-
ed from Goderich, Detroit, Toron-
to, Hamilton, London, Mitchell and
Marlette, Mich,
Following a wedding trip to Cal-
gary, Alberta, the young couple
will reside on the groom's farm in
Goderich Township.

"The storing of grass silage is
now almost complete in the county
however, very little progress- was
made with the haying the week of
July 2-7 because of cool, damp
weather. Other crops such as corn,
sugar beets, white beans still con-
tinue to make good growth,
"To date 450 tickets have been
sold for the 4-H Club train tour
to the Niagara Penninsula on July
17.
Production of 13 of Canada's
leading minerals-asbestos, cem-
ent, clay, copper, gold, gypsum,
iron, lime, natural gas, nickle,
petroleum, salt and zinc-showed
increases in 1955.
