Stan- lee invite Clinton folk to visit 'their place thin weekend. The 27'x75' building is on a let Blot much larger than the bnildieg itself. The plans were mostly the ideas of Mr. Stanley himself and 'Carried out by the building trades. Although smaller in size, city super-market ideas are incorporat- ed throughout, The building is of cement block ,construetion, with glass and brick front, A foue:foot canopy hangs over the front sidewalk and along 'one side. Living querters, Including two bedrooms, a large living room auel, a bathroom are in the rear of the building. Between the living quarters and the store is a 1.0'x10' walk-in re- frigerator. There is 75 feet of refrigerated counters in the store; 32 feet of tnls' being a meat counter. Along one side is 25 feet of refrigerated fruit and vegetable space; also a dry vegetable display. The staple groceries are in a large island' in the centre of the store; with the meat counter at the rear. Mr. Stanley plans having a staff of eight persons, working in two shifts. For customer convenience two check-out counters have been installed'. Everything in the new store is designed for easy, pleas- ant shopping. merly- a large booth, He leased the property for three years; then purchased it. Now the most mod- ern' Fopd Market on Grand Bead's main street was built this spring.. Orville is also owner of the Mod- ern Meat Market, Victoria Street, Mr., Stanley came to Clinton in 1947 from Dungannon where he had a butcher -business for two years. Originally from Lucknew, he learned butchering in Brussels, then was with the Loblaw chain stores in Toronto, London and. Windsor for some years. Many chain store ideas are incorporated in his new building and displays. Mr. Stanley said the Mod- ern Meat Market in Clinton, will be in the capable hands of Grant Irwin, who has been with the Stan- ley stores for many years.
