Magistrate Holmes said that if
it were a civil case, he would as-
eese a portion of the liability to
the Bedards and Mr. Ducharene.
Under normal conditiene, said
Holmes, Fejal should have seen
the truck, but believe the boy may
have distracted him.
A case of eaeeless, driving again-
st an Air Force Sergeant, Frank
Damon, the accused plead ,guilty,
and a fine of $15 and costs was
levied,
A fine of $13.60 was levied
against Alvin. Hutchinson for
speeding, and another against a
Stanley Township boy was dismiss-
ed, since the constable had made
an error in the license number,
the boy's name was spelled wrong,
and he had been charged (in error)
under the wrong section,

Junior Institute
The regular meeting of the Clin-
ton Junior Institute was held on
Monday evening, April 16, at CD-
CL President, Lois Jones presid-
ed. The roll call, "Your favourite
• movie actor or actress," was an-
swered, by nine members,
Guest speaker for the evening
was Mm, Kenneth Williams, who
gave a very interesting demon-
stration on aluminum. tray making.
The meeting was adjourned, and
the girls met with the Junior Far-
mere for a, joint. meeting.
Eight Are Hurt
In Head-On
Collision Saturday
Injuries to eight people were re-
corded here on Saturday evening,
in a head-on crash which sent all
of them to hospital for treatment.
Most seriously , injured was Ray
Cox, who was taken to Victoria
Hospital, London, with severe head
injuries, where his treatment is
continuing.
Unhurt was seven-month-old
Sandra, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ray Cox, who was found by a
passing motorist, in the ditch, still
wrapped in her blanket, where she
had been thrown by the impact.
Sandra and her mother were taken
to Clinton Hospital, where Mrs.
Cox was treated: for facial injuries.
Three .other daughters, Cheryl,
6; Bonnie, 7 and Patricia 10, as
well as a son, Claire, 14, were tak-
en to Alexandra Marine and Gen-
eral Hospital, Goderich; for treat-
ment,
Also in Goderich hospital is
Wilfred Hicks, 19, RR 2, Goderich,
who was driving the second car.
Provincial Constable Morley Grov-
es, Goderich, investigated.

At Station Aylmer
Two promotions in RCAF ranks
will be of interest to people in this
district.
LAC Phillip •Marehale Windsor,
whose wife Dorothy resides at
Green Acres, Grand Bend, was
promoted to the rank of Corporal
on April 1, 1956. Corporal Mar-
shall has served at RCAF Stations
Greenwood, N.S., Clinton, Camp
Borden, Centralia, London, Grand
Bend and Aylmer, Ontario. He
recently graduated from the Air
Craft Controller Operators Course
at the Ground Control Approach
School, RCAF Station Aylmer.
Corporal James Patrick Fedorek,
Alberta, was promoted to the rank
of Sergeant, also on April 1. The
Corporal has; served at RCAF Stat-
ions 10 Repair Depot Vancouver,
6 Repair Depot Trenton, Station
Trenton, Fort St. John, Watson
Lake and Clinton, and is now an
instructor at the Mobile Equip-
ment 'School, RCAF Station Ayl-
mer. In Clinton he -was the NCO
in charge of Mobile -Equipment
drivers.

Hog Producers To
Consider Assembly
Points Further
At a meeting of the Huron Coun-
ty Hog Producers' Association here
in Clinton, last Friday, a five man
committee to continue the investi-
gation into. possibilities of estab-
lishing hog marketing assembly
points in •the county was set up.
Members are Ross Lave, Edgar
Rathwell, Simon Hallahan, W. R.
"Bert" Lobb and Albert Bacon,
who- will bring in a report to a
future meeting.
Bert Lobb was chairman for the
meeting, . and James Boynton,
Chesley, Agricultural Federation
fieldman for Grey County, showed
slides on agency marketing assem-
bly and the establishing of assem-
bly points lor hogs.
Wilfred Aiken, director with the
Ontario Hog Producers' Associat-
ion, outlined the canvass for mem-
bership in the Co-operative being
conducted by Township F. of A.
directors.

les Farquhar, Hensall, wapthe set-
ting Monday evening, April 15, for
a celebration in honor of Mrs. Ag-
nes Consitt, Brucefield, mother of
Mrs. Farquhar, who• celebrated her
88th birthday.
Attending the affair were Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Consitt, Tucker-
smith; grandchildren, great-grand-
children, four sisters, Mrs. William
Douglass, Brucefield; Mrs. Eva
Carlile, Mrs. A. Logan, Mrs. A.
Harvey, all of Hensall, and friends,
Mrs. Consitt has a family of two,
Mrs. Farquhar, Hensall, and Roy

MEETING, PLAN BANQUET
The monthly meeting of the
Clinton' Women's Institute will be
held in the Agricultural Office
board room on Thursday, April 26,
at 2.00 p.m. All members are ask-
ed to bring a corsage for their
"sunshine sister."
A banquet sponsored by the In-
stitute will he held on April 27.

Centennial 'Days

its way with preparations for their
Centennial Celebrations to -be held

The campaign for raising funds
in behalf of- the Canadian Cancer
Society has been progreesing fav-
orably in. Clinton, A. door-to-door
canvass has been completed, and
canvassers report .a fine response.
Mrs. Neville Forbes; president
of the. Clinton branch of the Perth,
Huron Unit of the society, states,
that anyone who was. overlooked
'n the campaign may make their
donation by- calling at either one
of the banks in town.
