tension 'Conference of young men
and women at Pocono Manor,
Pennsylvania, on April 6-8,
"Developing Ourselves for Lead-
ership" was the theme of the con-
ference attended by 325. persons,
mostly from. Pennsylvania and
New Yo*, but including small
delegations, f rom 'Connecticut,
Maryland, New Hampshire, Ohio
and Ontario,. Among the guests
'were university students from
France, Germany, India and The
Keynote speaker at the confer-
ence was Dr. William M. Smith,
Professor of Family Relationships
at The Pennsylvania State Un-
iversity,
The program was developed lar-
gely through workshops on such
tOplcS, as community leadership, discovering and using leadership, family relationships, the rural church, organizational

On July 15, the Clinton Club will
be host to the annual meeting of
the Federation of Anglers and
Hunters. Preparations are now
under way for entertainment
which include a fishing trip, weiner
roast at the Club farm on Satur-
, day night and on Sunday a meet-
ing for the men with the Ladies`
Club entertaining the visiting
ladies.
A trout derby under the direct-
ion of Tom Murphy will be held
fop the Junior members on April
28, with prizes similiar to last
.year,

A movie of the Second Canadian
Scout Jamboree, held near Ottawa
in 1953, •was shown at the regular
meeting of the Clinton Scout troop
last Wednesday evening. The
Scout troop had the Huron District
Scoutmaster, Doug Carswell, as a
guest at the same meeting. Mr.
Carswell :brolight with him the
programs for the Huron District
Rally which will be held -here in
Clinton on Saturday, May 5, These
programs have 'since been distribu-
ted to both the Cubs and Scouts
for sale.
Troops /and Packs expected to
participate are Clinton RCAF,
Centralia RCAF, Godericii, • Ailsa
Craig, Bayfield, Blyth, Seaforth,
Grand Bend, Brussels, Luau', Ex-
eter, Hensel], Zurich, and Clinton.
Admission will be by program on-
ly. Programs are 25c and are ob-
tainable either from the Cubs and
Scouts or at the entrance to the
Rally.
Cub events for the Rally have
been announced. The first event
is a relay of leap-frog, somersaults,
and hopping. The second relay, will
be-using either semaphore or mor-
se code in- signalling. The next
event will be a jungle dance by the
complete packsI Then come re-
layS in flag identification, skipping,
telling time, and leaf identifica-
tion. All* the eVents, with the ex-
ception of the jungle dance, will
be run with the six as the unit for
competition. •
This is the 'first time that such
an event has been held in Clinton,
and we urge you to attend. We
:hope all the parents, friends, and
supporters of the Cubs and Scouts
will turn out and support the local
Troop and Packs,

troop we hear that Wayne Wilson
and Ted Kelsey have been presen-
ted with their* Queen's Scout bad-
ge. Congratulations are due to
both Wayne and Ted on receiving
the highest rank in Scouting. We
also hear that the Clinton RCAF
Ministers Prepare
An Evangelistic
Crusade In Huron

Ministers and lay leaders of
nearly 20 congregations in South
Huron are making preparations :for
a two week evangelistic crusade in
Zurich in June.
Officials hope the revival will be
the largest and most outstanding
religious event in the history of the
community, The crusade will em-
brace at least eight Protestant de-
nominations,
Evangelist for the 14-day cam-
paign will be Rev. Cedric Sears,
Wheaton, Illinois, who has been
affiliated with the Billy Graham
evangelistic team. An outstanding
sang leader is being sought.
Ta date, churches from, Grand
Bend, Crediton, Exeter, hames
Road, Hensall, Bayfield, Zurich
and Dashwood; have joined in the
preparations. Denominations in-
elude United, Presbyterian, Bap-
tist, Church of God, Pentecostal,
Menonnite, Amish Mennonite, and:
Evangelical United Brethern. The;
interdenominational Youth f o i I
Christ is also assisting.
In addition to Rev. Roppel and
Rev. Strome, the crusade includes
Rev. C. D. Daniel, Hensall United
Church, who is. vice chairman ;and
K. K. Christian, Hensall bank man-
ager, treasurer.

composed of both ministers and
laymen, include: prayer, Rev. Eph-
riam Gingerich, Zurich Amish Men::
nonite Church; counselling, -Rev. J.
E. Wattam, Church of God, Grand
