MRS. ALEXANDER. BROWN (By our Bayfield correspondent)
Maude Gordon, beloved wife of
the late Capt. Alexander Brown,
passed away on Thursday, Jan-
uary 31, 1952, at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Lorne Epps,
234 Grand Avenue, London. Her
husband predeceased her 30 years
ago.
Funeral services were held
from Trinity Anglican ' Church,
Bayfield, Saturday, February 3,
the Rev. H. J, E. Webb off iciat-1
ing.
Pallbearers were William Orr,
William Parker, William McDool,
Leslie Elliott, Brown Lindsay and
John Sturgeon, Sr.
She leaves to mourn her loss
four daughters and one son: John
Brown, London; Mrs. C. R. Wigle
(Hazel) of Windsor; 'Mrs. John
H. Parker (Myrtle) of Bayfield;
Mrs. Lorne Epps (Ivy), of Lon-
don; Mrs. Albert Seabrook (Elsie)
of Owen Sound; also one sister,
Mrs. Catherine Madden, Bristol,
Penna.; six grandchildren a n d
four greatgrandchildren.
Interment was in Bayfield

Funeral services were held
Friday afternoon, February 1, at
the Beattie Funeral Home, Rat-
tenbury St. E., Clinton, for the
late J. Howard Cox, R. R. 2,
Bayfield.
Rev. D. J. Lane, Clinton, min-
ister of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Bayfield, and Rev. G. A
Peddle, minister of Knollwood
Presbyterian Church, London, of-
ficiated.
Interment was in Maitland
Cemetery, Goderich,
Pallbearers were Benson Daw-
son, James Cox, Ray Cox, Fraser
Stirling, Maurice Frame and El-
liott Mair.
Deceased passed away in Vic-
toria Hospital, London, on Wed-
nesday, January 30; in his 69th
year. He had been a patient
there for a month prior to his
death, but had been in ill health
for more than five years.
A farmer all his life in Gocle-
rich Township, he was born there
May 27, 1883, a son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. J. Cox. He was
married Feb, 13, 1926, to the for-
mer Christiana Watson Reid. He
was a member of Bayfield Pres-
byterian Church,/

one "special" dish using a basic
recipe with variations or gar-
nishes,
Salmon Tomato Soup
2 tbsps. minced onion
4 tbsps. butter
4 tbsps. flour
31,iz. cups milk
1 cup tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can salmon
Cook onion in butter in sauce-
pan on "low" electric element
for 15 minutes. Mix in flour un-
til smooth. Add -milk and cook
until thick. Stir in tomatoes
gradually, then the salmon. Sea-
son with salt and Pepper. Makes
six servings.
Pimiento Cheese Mold
1 pkg, pimiento cheese
3 tbsps. cream
1 tbsp. gelatin
3/4 cup cold water
% cup tomato soup
1/3 cup salad dressing
3 tbsps. grated carrot•
1/2 tsp. minced onion
8 tbsps. minced cabbage
Cream the cheese until smooth
and soft. • Blend in the cream.
Soften gelatin in water. Heat
soup and add gelatin until dise
solved, then cool. Add cheese,
salad dressing, 'carrot, onion and
cabbage. Turn into mold and
allow to set. Makes six servings.
Queen's Pudding
1 quart. milk
3 cups soft crumbs ,
1/2 cup sugar •
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. maple extract
Heat milk, bread crumbs, and
sugar in saucepan to scalding
point. Blend with rotary beater.
Beat _egg yolks.. gradually add
the hot mixture,. Cook on electric
clement turned Low until it coats
a silver spoon. Pour into case
Perele. Top with meringue made
by beating the three egg whites
until stiff and gradually adding
two tbsps. sugar and five tbsps,
currant jelly. Makes six servings,

solemnized by Rev. C. J. 'Scott.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Walsh, Blyth; the
groom, a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Roy Pepper, Hensall.
For her wedding, the bride
chose an electric-blue velvet suit
with black accessories and red
rose corsage. Miss Gladys Pep-
per was the bride's only attend-
ant, dressed in green crepe, with

black accessories and corsage of
yellow roses. Lloyd Walsh was
groomsman.
At' a reception at the 'Bruns-
wick Hotel, Blyth, the bride's
mother wore a teal blue ensemble
with a corsage of pink roses. The
groom's mother was dressed in
light brown crepe with a corsage
of pink roses. They will, reside
in Hensall.
