B-L YPU Meets
Members of B-L YPU held their
regular meeting in the basement
of Londesboro United Church on
Sunday evening and had as their
guests members of "Myth United
Church YPU, The meeting was
in charge of Bill, Cowan and was
on Bible study.
The Young People's Pledge was
repeated after which. hymn No. 88 was sung. A poem entitled
eThe Bible" was read by Mrs.
Fangrad after which Mrs. Bren-
ton read the scripture. The col-
lection was taken up following
which Mrs. Brenton, and Mrs.
Vincent sang a duett.
A reading entitled "Two Thous-
and Miles for a Book" was giveh
by Bill Cowan. Adolph Fangrad
then led in prayer. The theme
entitled "The Bible" was given
by Grant Snell. Hymn 193 was
theri sung and this part of the
meeting was brought to a close
with prayer by Adolph Fangrad.
Following a short recreation
period, lunch was served and then
the meeting was brought to a
close with "taps,"

Farewell Party
Eighteen boys and girls gather-
ed at .the home of Donnie and
Joyce Bell on Friday evening
last, for a farewell party given
in honor of Miss Merry Mack,
who with her family, leave this
week to make their home in At-
lanta, Georgia. Games and danc-
ing were enjoyed.
During the evening, Glenn
Sturgeon on behalf of Merry's
friends, expressed the regret at
her -departure from among them
and presented her• with a cup and
• saucer, a plate' and a pennant.
Merry expressed her thanks to
her friends. .
Lunch was served by the girls.

The Trinity Club met at the
home of Mrs. Alf Scotchmer Jr.,
on Tuesday evening, Mrs. IL J.

Firemen's Euchre
Winners of prizes at the euchre
party held by Brucefield, Fire-
men, in the Oddfellows Hall, on
Tuesday evening, were: Ladies'
first, • Mrs. Lorne Wilson, 1324
second, Mrs. A. Hohher, 130;
men's first, W. Dt Wilson, 145;
second, J. R. Murdoch, 141.
About 65 people il,om the dist-
rict enjoyed themselves at the
party. Fifteen games were play-
ed .with points counting.
The firemen -served lunch of
coffee and sandwiches, and every-
one had time for a chat with
their neighbours.

A fairly good turnout at the
annual meeting of Brucefield
Firemen, was reported by the
secretary, J. K. Cornish. T h e
meeting, held on Friday, Febru-
ary 1, was held in the Oddfel-

Successful Meeting
The United ,Church held its
annual meeting in -the church on
Tuesday, Jan. 29. Good reports
were given by the treasurer, the
WA, WMS, and the Sunday
School. Lunch was served by the
ladies at the close of the meeting.

Gordon Caldwell, five-year-old
son of Mr. and, Mrs. William
Caldwell, Second of Stanley, took
ill suddenly Monday afternoon,
and is now in ;War Memorial
Children's Hospital, London, re-
ceiving twice-daily blood trans-
fusions.
