During the business session two new officers were appointed. Moved by Mr. Brenton and sec- onded by Jim Scott that Jack Webster be returned as press re- porter; and moved by Vera Lyon and Bert Lyon that Gail Manning also be returned as pianist; mov- ed by Harry Lear and Bert Lyon that the B-L YPU hold• a social evening during the week of Jan. 14; moved by Bert Lyon and Jim Scott that we adjourn, The worship service took the form of a young people's dedisea- 'Lion service led by Clare Vincent. Benediction was given by Rev. S, H, Brenton. Recreation follow- ed under the direction of Gail Manning. Lunch was served and the meetinwiclosed with the sing- ing of Taps. Mission Band Meets The Mary Grierson Mission Band held its meeting in the school room of the church on Sunday morning, Dec. 30. With the president, Muriel Shobbrook, in the chair and Marguerite Lyon at the piano, meeting opened with hymn 18, "Away in the Manger" and God Save the King, and the Lord's Prayer in unison, The Scripture lesson was read and minutes of last meeting. Crawford and John- son, Mr. and Mrs. James Craw- ford spent Christmas at the home of Fred Preston, also their own family were present. Londesboro WI to Meet Londesboro Women's Institute meeting will be held January 10, at '7 p.m. in Community Hall. The agricultural representative, G. W. Montgomery, will be the speaker. Please bring a card table and a deck of cards. Men are invited. A pot-luck supper will be served. YPU Officers Named Members of Londesboro Young People's Union held their Christ- mas party and banquet in the basement of Londesboro United Church. The meeting was called to order by the president and opened by singing "Silent Night", followed by ,the Creed. The treasurer's and flower convener's reports were read, four boxes had been sent at Christmas to the shut-ins. The program was in charge of Mrs.• Manning who read a hum orous selection entitled "The Ghosts of Christmas Concerts Past." A contest pertaining to the parts of a watch was won by Jean Anderson. • Mrs. Cann and Peter favoured by singing "Silent Night," accompanied on the piano by Susie. The election of officers was held with the ' same ones being returned to office with the ex- ception of secretary to be Jean Anderson, with Mrs. W. Watkins as assistant. The mystery box was won by Mrs. Cann. An 'ex- change of Christmas gifts then took place, including some for the children. The meeting clos- ed with God Save the King and the hostess served lovely refresh- ments. , The January meeting is to be held at Mrs. Manning's. The programmes for 1952 are to be made out and each one is asked to bring some roll call ideas. M. Hedden received word this week of the sudden death of her sister-in-law, • Mrs. Russell Rothaerreee, who died suddenly at her hone in Port Huron, Thursday morning, -Jan. 3. She was the former Florence George, daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Ben George, Ailsa Craig, and WAS born in that town. Sur- viving are her husband, a form- er well known Dashwood resi- dent; two sons: James and Reg; one daughter, Mrs. George Ken- nedy. Mrs, Mamie i'eddler, Ailsa Craig, is a sister.
