He was of a pleasant and genial' dis- position and possessed a great sense of humor and a sublime and endue= ing . faith. In 1914 he married Miss Margaret Clark of St. Helens, 'a for- mer teae'her in Kintail •school, and the couple returned each summer to spend their 'holidays on ,the banks of Lake Huron, it the .old .honce..
