Campbell, M. P. .for Kent, spoke for about au hour and dealt practically and treuolteutly with a num- ber of the leading questions of the tray, "Johnnie Canuck," a patriotio song was so well sung by Alex. Ross that he was enthusiastically encored and responded with the grand sone, "Soldiers of the Quem," Mr. McMullen, Wellington Co. M. P., humorously, pointedly, yet briefly addressed the audience. Dr. Macdonald, East Huron's clever repre- sentative, was the last speaker and re- turned thanks for the honor done hila. A vote of thanks was passed to Miss Crooks and Miss Jean MoLauehlin (ac- companist) aucl Mr. Ross for their assis- tance and the gathering dispersed with the National Anthem and cheers for Dr. Macdonald, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, the visitors and tho Queen. Dr. Macdonald will be opposed by Barrister Dickinson, of Wingham, who is already in the field and hard at work. East Huron was gerrymandered to rep- resent a Conservative riding but as Dr. Macdonald has successfully carried the banner through three contests,—the last one with Mr. Dickinson as an opponent, —we expect him to repeat the dose and win at the next election by a good ma- jority. It means work, however, by every Liberal in the riding. Our thanks are due Mr. Kerr, of the Brussels Post for the above report.—Ecl. AT Cafe IL CampbeIL's DRUG STORE. TO ADVERTISERS.
