for the office of Collector of Taxes

for an advance of salary. Resolved
that he be re -appointed to this office
and salary to be the same as former-

Resolved that Reeve Lockhart in
conjunction with Mr. Cruickshank,
councillor of Turnberry, be author-
ized to get a legal opinion regarding
the liability of the township pf East
:Wawanosh, being obliged to assist in
maintaining a so-called deviation
road leading from the Northern
boundary through the township of
Turnberry to the corporation of the
town of Wingham,
Robert Scott, a director of the East
Wawanosh Agricultural Society at
Belgrave, was present, requesting a
further grant of money froth the
township in aid of Said society. On
account of 11,ehvy, payments being
required this -season for the repairing
of roads and bridges throughout the
township, the council could not sea
their way clear to make any grant
to that soeiety this year.
The Treasurer reported a cash
balance on hand at date of $619,05.
